Chapter 10 | Dixon

Before I fully fell asleep I felt I was being pulled back onto the bed as my head lay on a pillow. The warm feeling on Daryl's arm around me stayed as I heard the slight snores exhale from his mouth. I moved a little, trying my best not to wake him. I moved so I my face snuggled into the crook of his neck, the slight beard growing on his face tickled me as I tried my best not to giggle.

I felt safe in his arms, like the whole world had stopped at it was just me and him. like we were meant to be...

Carol's pov

I was in the reckroom with the kids who were playing and laughing as I sat and watching then, silently reading a book. The noise of the door opening brought attention to me as I looked over to see Lori walking in. I smiled at her as she smiled back

I looked back over to the kids as they looked at Lori "time for bed" she said as Carl stood up and walked over to his mother. Sophia stood up too and stood at me side. "Carl, can you go to the room? I need to talk to Carol" she told his son as he happily nodded and ran back to his room he shared with Lori and Rick

"You too Sophia, I'll be back in a minute" I told her as she ran too, trying to catch up with her friend, Carl. "What is it you wanted to talk about?" I asked her, putting my book back on the shelve

"Have you noticed something between Daryl and Aura?" She asked me as she sat on a chair placed in the middle of the room. I sat across from her ad she rested her elbows on her knees.

"No, why?" I said to her, confused at her question

"When they came back from hunting back in Atlanta their shirts were both wet-" she said, not finishing her sentence

"What's wrong with that?" I asked her ad she rolled her eyes

"I am not finished" she told me

"Daryl let her ride on the back of his bike" she continued "and I caught them holding hands down the corridors" she finished

"Maybe there is something going on with them. But it's not our place to get involved. And what's your problem with Aura anyway?" I asked her. I've noticed she's been acting different ever since she got here and been sending dirty looks

"I don't have one" she lied

"I think it's good that they're together-" I said as she cut me off

"Good? Really? She's half his age. It's not right. She's only 16" she told me, maybe it was right. But it wasn't our business.

"It's none of our business Lori, just leave them be. And maybe, just maybe. Two broken people can make a whole" I told her as I stood up and walked out the door to my room before stopping in front of Daryl's.

I just wanted to check on him. I knocked once but I heard no noise, just the echo of the knock down the hall. I put my ear upto the door and heard light snores, he was asleep

I opened the door to see Aura tangled in his arms as she snuggled upto him. His arms crossed over her body as hers were around his waist, holding onto him like he was going to leave. I smiled at Daryl as I knew he would feel better about himself with Aura around. Either that or they will just fall out again, in the 4 days they've known each other they have snapped at each other five times

Because Two broken people will fit together perfectly, or destroy each other beyond repair. And right now I was hopping they would fit together. But I had no idea how this was going to end
