After a while of me struggling to get out of Daryl's grip he finally let go, Carol cried in Lori's ams as they waited for Rick to come back with her daughter.

Rick had came back not long after without Sophia, his face full of sadness and his shirt soaked through. Glenn, Shane, me and Daryl all went back into the wooded area to look for her, no one talked as we came across a small stream. There was a small cave-like banking on the side as daryl walked upto it "you sure this is the spot?"  He asked as his head turned to Rick

"I left her right here" he said as he pointed to the banking then looked down the stream to see if she was still in sight "I took the walkers in that direction, up the Creak" he said, pointing, showing daryl where he went "she was gone by the time we got back, I figured she had went back to the high way. I said run that way and keep the sun on your right shoulder" he pointed to the high way

"Hey short round, move out the way, you're muckin' up the trail" daryl said to Glenn as I chuckled at the name

"Assuming she knows her right from her left" Shane piped up as we stared at him

"Here's the trail" Daryl said as he looked at the marks on the ground "she did like she said and ran this way" Shane helped Daryl out the water as he turned around and stretched out his hand, I took it as he pulled me onto the mud and carried me onto the ground and put me down

I mumbled a slight "thanks" as he started walking away

We followed the trail as it was heading straight to the highway but stopped "she was doin' just fine til' here. All she had to do was keep going straight then she ran off that way" Daryl said as he pointed to the tracks heading the opposite direction of the highway

"Why would she do that?" Glenn asked

"Maybe she saw something, spooked herShane said as he kneeled on the ground beside Daryl

"Walker?"

Daryl shook his head "I didn't see any other footprints"

"what do we do then? Keep looking?" Shane asked

"It's better if you, Aura and Glenn go back to the highway, keep everyone calm. Just tell them we're doing everything we can" Rick told us as I looked at Daryl, he nodded his head as I smiled at him.

"I'll have them look through the cars, keep them occupied" Shane said as he and Glenn started walking back

"Stay safe" I told them, but mostly Daryl as Rick said a quick 'thanks'

As we got back to the highway everyone was worried and some were trying to move the cars to clear some room. I helped before the job was finished only moments later.

It had started getting dark as the sky had turned an orange colour. I was worried as I sat on a car bonnet, waiting for Daryl to come back. "You're back" I heard Glenn shout ad I turned around to see Daryl and Rick walking up the hill and climbed over the barricade

I saw Carol had started to cry again when she realised Sophia wasn't with them. I couldn't hear what they were saying so I jumped off the car and slowly walked up to them, catching Daryl's attention as he watched me walk upto them. "We can't look in the dark, it's no good. We'd just be trippin' over ourselves" Daryl told Carol as she started telling them they can't leave her out there on her own

"Is that - is that blood?" Carol asked Daryl as she pointed to his leg

"We took down a walker" Rick told her slowly, trying to keep her calm

"A - a walker" she stuttered

"There was no signs it was anywhere near your daugher" Rick said once more as I looked down at the ground, I didn't feel right about this. And it broke my heart knowing how much she cared about her daughter and I just wished my family cared about me that much too.

"We cut that sum of a bitch open just to be sure" Daryl said as he made eye contact with me. The sudden thought of opening a walkers guts made me gag as I turned around and tried not to be sick

"How could you just leave her out there to be killed? - how can you just leave her out there on her own?" Carol spat at them as she rested on the barricade

"he didn't have a choice, Carol" Shane told her as she cried even harder

Andrea and Lori sat next to her as everyone left exept me, I stood there as I didn't know where to go. I watched as Daryl walked upto a car and crawled in the back and rested his feet outside as he was too big to fully fit in the car

I walked upto him and chapped the window as he sat up "hey" I said as I smiled at him

"Hi" he grumbled as he moved into the car so that I could sit beside him

"So you had to cut up a walker?" I asked him as I pretended to be sick but chuckled after

"Yeah"

"Was it horrible?" I asked him as he nodded

"I had to cut open its stomach" he told me

"Ew, Daryl" I said as I buried my nose into his shoulder "that's disgusting"

"Ya did ask" he chuckled as he pulled me closer to him

"Whatever" I chuckled "are you gonna sleep in here?" I asked him

"Ye"

"Where do you think I should sleep?" I said as I started to get out the car and search for a good place to sleep before I got pulped back into the car

"Here" Daryl said as he pulled my back into his chest and pressed himself on the car door. I sat in between his legs as his head rested in my hair.

"Okay" I whispered quietly as I giggled a little before Daryl had fell asleep in this position. I leaned back into his chest as his arms wrapped tighter around me, making me feel more safe.

I fell asleep and thought about how we slept in the CDC and it was just the same
