Element XI

Leaving school, I couldn't wait to get back home. 

My nose hurt and I could feel my head throbbing. All I wanted was an ice pack and a hot shower. 

Pulling up to the house, I dragged myself out of the car and up the front steps. 

"I'M HOME!" I yelled as soon as I shut the door.

"We're in here." I heard my aunt yell from the kitchen. Walking in, I saw my aunt bent over the stove stirring something.

"How was your day sweetie?" My aunt asked without turning around.

"I don't know, it was okay I guess." Shrugging my shoulders, I grabbed a banana out of the fruit bowl and began to eat. Ever since I changed for the first time the other night, my appetite has definitely increased.

"What do you mean you don't know?" She asked still not looking at me.

"Well, in first peri-..."

"MOM, I'M HOME!" We heard Alora shout as soon as she stepped inside. Coming around the corner, I braced myself for her reaction.

"Oh my god!" Stopping abruptly, she covered her mouth while she made her way over to me.

"What? What's wrong?" My aunt quickly abandoned what was on the stove and looked at her daughter. All Alora could muster was pointing at my face while she carefully approached. 

"It's not that big of a deal, it's just a little bruised." I said while trying to down play my injury.

"A little bruised? More like a little broken." Alora said finally standing in front of me.

"What happened sweetie?" My aunt asked approaching me with a bag of frozen peas.

"It's nothing really. I was in gym and this girl spiked a volleyball into my face. Really guys, I'm fine. It's just a little sore." 

"What girl?" Alora asked while obviously trying to reign in her anger.

"This Kelcy girl I have gym with. It was just an accident."

"Accident my ass, that girl is a grade a bitch and she has been jealous of my position for as long as I can remember!" Alora growled while gripping the counter until her knuckles turned white.

"Jealous of your position? What are you talking about Alora?" 

"Nothing, mom I have to go do something, I'll be right back." Grabbing her car keys, she turned around and walked back out the door.

"Where is she going aunt Kat?" Looking towards my aunt, I saw her with a scrunched up face watching the doorway Alora just left through.

"I don't know sweetie. Why don't you go upstairs and lay down and I'll call you when dinner is ready." 

Nodding my head, I got up from the stool and headed upstairs.

"Oh, Helen, don't forget the peas."

Grabbing the peas from her outstretched hands. I made my way upstairs and threw myself on my bed. As soon as my head hit the pillow, I was out.

'I am going to kill that mutt! How dare she hurt my cousin!' 

Getting into my car. I shoved it into gear and pressed on the gas. 

I made it to the pack house 10 minutes later knowing she would be there. Most of the guys hung out afterwards here and wherever they were, she would be there also.
