All I could hear was silence. I had just shifted in front of everyone I know and no one had anything to say. I stared at the ground not feeling brave enough to make eye contact yet. As I slowly raised my head and looked into the faces of those starring back at me, I could see Michael smile with pride.
"Hey sis, your eyes are traffic lights again." Chuckling, his comment seemed to break the silence and people started whispering.
"I don't understand. You were suppose to be human..." Alora cocked her head to the side and stared at me. Of course I would have tried to explain the situation but I was currently a dog and had no clothes to shift back into.
"I am not a dog. Really Helen, when you offend me, you are offending yourself!" Listening to Rebecca, I let out a wolfish chuckle that allowed more people to whisper.
"You know that I don't really think you are a dog. It just makes me laugh." Sitting down, I figured it would be a while before I could shift back.
"This changes everything." Looking up to see who just spoke. It was the man I saw on the rock the day I saw Alora change. Looking into his eyes, I think my heart was going to beat out of my chest. He was incredibly tall and incredibly gorgeous. I was so transfixed on him that I didn't even realize I had walked up to him until he stooped down onto his knees in front of me.
Starring into his deep green eyes, my breath caught in my throat as he lifted his hand to touch me.
As soon as his fingertips were about to graze my fur, a shout was heard across the lawn.
"Aye! What's going on here? Let me through."
Hearing the chatter rise to my left, I broke eye contact with this beautiful stranger to looked at what was happening in the crowd.
As I watched everyone shuffle around to accommodate the intrusion, a boy, no older than myself, broke through and stopped short. Starring at me, his mouth fell open and his eyes went wide.
"Dude, it looks just like me!" At the mention of "it" I let out a low growl and he took a step back.
"It's not an 'it' Cole, it's a girl. It's Helen actually..." You could hear the uncertainty in Alora's voice as she made the connection between my wolf and I.
"A girl. Dude, I bet she's hot, just look at her wolf." Again I let out a low growl but this time he just smirked and crossed his arms.
"Cole, you obviously don't understand, this isn't just a wolf or just a girl. She is an Elemental wolf...a special one" Sitting down, I watched Cole for his reaction; it didn't change at all.
"Yeah so? I'm an Elemental wolf and so is Zayne." He said gesturing to the beautiful man now standing next to me. Looking at the stranger named Zayne; this must have been the guy whose party we were at Friday.
Honestly, I was shocked. There were two Elemental wolves right here in front of me. Just the other day I was wondering where they all were.
"Cole, you are so difficult sometimes. This isn't just any Elemental wolf. Do you not notice how big she is, or how pure her white coat is? Do you see how she shimmers in gold? What about her eyes, do you see how they are constantly changing colors. She is more than just an Elemental wolf like you and Zayne, she is the Knight wolf."
At the mention of my title, Cole uncrossed his arms and his mouth fell open even wider than before.
"Dude, are you serious? Werewolves are so cool." At his comment, the crowd broke out in laughter and the seriousness of the situation all but disappeared.
"You know what, maybe we should take this inside and give Helen the chance to clean up. Than we can discuss what's to come next." Julian said gesturing to everyone surrounding me
