"Oliver? Where are you?" I sigh when I hear Graham's voice. Julian, Callen and I are currently playing hide-and-seek, and I know this is a ploy in Callen's plan to get me caught, because the last four games I have one and they gave up, so they still haven't found my secret spot.

I ignore Graham as I hear his steps and voice fading away. No one is able to smell us because of a chemical that we took - that wouldn't harm my pups, I asked - that would hide our scents from other wolves, otherwise there wouldn't have been any fun in this game.

I squeal out frightened when I feel a hand clamp over my mouth. I turn my head slightly and breath out a sigh of relief when I see its only Uriah. He must have found my hiding spot.

"Don't scream. I'm going to let go of your mouth now." I nodded at Uriah before leaning back as he took his hand away. I'm surprised that the both of us could fit in the small space.

"What are you doing? I'm in the middle of a game." I whisper as I squint my eyes in the darkness.

"Julian and Callen roped all of us into finding you. I just decided I would rather stay in here then rat you out." I beamed at Uriah and opened my mouth to reply, but then snapped it shut quickly when I heard approaching footsteps.

I look at Uriah with wide eyes, barely able to keep my mouth closed with the giggles that want to pour out of my mouth.

When whoever walked by was far enough away my giggles erupted quietly. Uriah only smiled at me with a certain glint in his eyes. Adoration?

"Why are you here, Uriah? There isn't anything to protect me from." I whisper as I stare into his dark green eyes. Uriah's expression changes slightly before he looks me back in the eyes again.

"I wasn't sent here to protect you. I lied when I said that." Uriah admits as he moves around to get in a more comfortable position.

"Then why did you come here?" I whisper again. I need to know why he is here, and why the idea of him leaving leaves a gap in my chest.

"Because...."

Uriah's reply is cut short when the door to the pantry is ripped open. We both stare at Sampson wide eyed as he stares us down. He gives me a small smile before turning to Uriah with a warning look. Uriah only nodded his head at him before turning and walking out of the kitchen and into the hallway leading to the rooms.

I turn back to Sampson, ready to ask him what that was all about, but Sampson is already gone, and I'm left with and cheering Julian and Callen.

"Hahaha. We found you! And we know where your hiding spot is!" Julian explodes as he jumps up and down. Ever since he gave birth he has been a lot more active then I have ever seen him before, and he is going to need it if he is going to be able to stay with his twin girls who are running him and Sampson out of energy.

My gaze stays on the hallway where Uriah dissapeared, and the questions floating around my head.

Why is he really here?
