EDIT: READ THE LAST COUPLE OF SENTENCES IN THE LAST CHAPTER AGAIN BEFORE READING THIS. SHE GOT SHOT BY JAMES (if you just started to read though you're fine!)
---SNAPES POV---
We appeared in Dumbledore's office, and he immediately took Genevieve in his arms and sat her down.
"H-Help me please..." She coughed and grasped the arm of the chair. Blood was coming out of her abdomen, mouth and nose, while tears were streaming down her pale oval shaped face.
I instantly felt bad for her, as I saw the pain in her emerald eyes that heavily reminded me of Lily, but I could not let her get to me so quickly.
Her pupils dilated as she screamed while the pain got exceedingly worse.
"Vulnera Sanentur," Dumbledore said. The bleeding slowed to a halt, and the gash healed rather quickly.
"Tergeo," Her nose stopped bleeding, and she stopped coughing blood.
Genevieve wiped the tears on her cheek with the back of her hand, and looked around.
"Er... Thanks, man with the white beard." She smiled wanly. Dumbledore chuckled and crossed his arms.
I gave her a towel to wipe the blood off her hands. She looked at me and smiled. I kept my usual mask on, my emotions concealed from the people around me.
"So... where exactly am I, if you don't really mind me asking?" She gazed at Dumbledore and I, an eyebrow raised.
"Well, you are in Hogwarts. As mentioned by Professor Snape before, it is a school of witchcraft and wizardry. Magic, basically." Dumbledore said proudly.
She looked down, fiddling with her thumbs.
"Why am I here? I mean, I'm not special I guess... I could have gone to any other school, not that any would want me... They don't even know I exist. So why me? Why not some other kid that comes from a real family with money or something? Isn't that what you guys want? Most "special" schools want fee's, tuition, money, you get the point. Why me?"
"Genevieve... we don't accept just "some other kid with money." The children that we choose are special, just like you. They require more than what most children have. They need to have magic in their blood. And believe it or not, Genevieve, you are a wizard. Now, how we did not find you until now is quite an enigma. We have a very large book, which records when each wizard is born around the world. You appeared in our book a couple of weeks ago. The age listed next to your name was not what we expected. We usually, almost always, see newborns. You were 14."
She closed her eyes and sighed.
"This is just a dream, isn't it? Magic doesn't exist. It's purely fiction. I mean, if magic was real, wouldn't the FBI or CIA know about it or something? You guys couldn't possibly hide this stuff forever."
She stood up and started to pace.
Dumbledore smiled. "I know this is a lot to take in, Genevieve, but if you--"
"Listen, authors believed in magic, right? But they were high on drugs and coke and hallucinogens! You can't just expect for Lewis Carroll to make up a story about a girl named Alice that dreams up a place where potions and food can make you bigger or smaller and where bunnies are huge and cheshire cats have the capability to appear and disappear and, and, and.... this is INSANE!" She finished, panting and running her fingers through her hair.
"Genevieve. You are overreacting. Without magic, how could you possibly be alive right now?" I said calmly.
"I don't know... This is just a lot to take in. I've lived in a world where the only "magic" existed was in Disney World! Did you know that the place is known as the "happiest place on earth"... literally? No one has ever died there."
