 Genevieve's POV

Tuesday, September 2nd

I woke up first thing in the morning and quickly put on my robes, then fed Nagini and went down stairs to the common room. It was about six thirty, which was basically when my internal alarm clock blew up. Breakfast wouldn't be served until eight thirty, so I had plenty of time to roam around in the castle until people started to wake and move about. Nagini formed a choker necklace on my neck again, hiding in case someone showed up. With my wand in my hand, I headed out.

I decided to practice flying, so I went out to a small open area where students would hang out and relax in between classes. The grass was green and had morning dew on it, which made my shoes a bit wet. I inhaled and wiggled my fingers as I stood in the middle of the circular space, closing my eyes and calling the air affinity.

"Ego voluntas fugere." I whispered. I opened my eyes as I was suddenly whisked up in the air, floating above the ground. Nagini poked her head out and looked like she was grinning.

I squealed in delight and made my self go left and right, figuring how to control myself like a person learning how to play a video game. I flew up higher and higher until I was up in the clouds. I smiled soared down to the ocean surrounding Hogwarts. I got close enough to the water to the point where I saw myself like I usually did in the mirror. My reflection showed a happy and eccentric redhead grinning like she had nothing to worry about. My finger broke the surface of the water and I let it trace the calm little waves coming my way.

I glided through the air like a bird, and landed on the Quidditch Field. That was the best thing ever! Maybe I can take people flying with me? That would be freaking wicked!

I opened my locket and checked the time. Mother of all that's good, it was eight already? I can't believe I just spent an hour and a half in the air, it only felt like five minutes.

I made my way through the corridors and was about to turn right to go back to the common room when I stopped dead in my tracks. I heard two men talking, and I slowly recognized that it was Snape and the Headmaster of Durmstrang. I stuck my back to the wall and hid behind the brick pillar and listened to them.

"...Well Igor, I see no reason to discuss it." Snape sneered.

"It's time, and you know it is." Igor responded, highly agitated.

"And what exactly are you talking about?" Snape retorted.

"Pull up your sleeve!" Igor demanded.

I tilted my head towards them so I could see what was going on. Snape's back was to me, and Igor was clearly ticked off. His head snapped up and his eyes suddenly filled with rage.

'Shit shit shit shit shit! He saw me!'  I thought with panic.

"There is a girl listening. She is right here!" Igor exclaimed and walked towards me.

"Absconde me!" I thought, pursing my lips and squeezing my eyes shut. Please work, make me invisable...

"....Where is she? The girl was right here!" He exclaimed, his voice getting lower and powerful. I opened my eyes and looked at Igor, and now Snape. It worked! I don't know which affinity did it, but it worked! It could have been earth, I might be able to camouflage myself like geckos. Snape looked at the Headmaster like he had gone mental.

"There is no girl here, Karkaroff. I think you need a bit of sleep, your journey here might have... exhausted you, perhaps?" Snape said, a hint of amusement laced in his voice. Igor growled and turned on his heel, walking away from Snape in anger. Once he was out of sight I made myself reappear. Snape was already walking back so I decided to freak him out. I floated up to the ceiling and when I was a good yard in front of him, I dropped and lightly fell on my feet in front of the professor. He jumped and backed away.
