Yamamoto's POV

It had been one and a half month since our class returned to Nanimori and everything went back to normal....excluding Sayomi who was still in a coma. Doctor Shamal, the one they call a flirt, said that she would awaken anytime soon and I don't know what to feel. On one hand, I felt excited because I could take Tsuna's advice and talk to her heart to heart and try to understand why she did what she did in the back. However, a part of me was nervous and angry at her, not wanting to see her face at all. Because of these feelings fighting inside me, everyone noticed that I was not myself and ask if I was okay. Of course, to the others that were not close to me, I answered that I was and if they insisted, I would claim that I was only stress with baseball as I didn't play at all when I was in Italy. To those that were close to me, like my dad and the other guardians, I would tell them that I was just worried about Sayomi. I only told the whole truth to Tsuna and asked for his advices as he seemed to know more then he let on. Unfortunately, he would never tell me everything he knows and just smile at me sadly while claiming that I had to hear it from Sayomi herself. Sometimes, his advices piss me off but I know, thanks to my gut feeling always screaming at me when I feel mad, that he was right. Which is why I decided to wait for her to awaken to hear the entire truth.

"Yamamoto!" I heard Tsuna's voice as I was shaken out of my thoughts. "Shamal's calling!"

"Eh?" I said, shaking my head a little as his words registered in my head. "Where!"

"Here!" he immediately handed me his phone, not minding the fact that I just stood up quickly, my chair falling, and looked at him like a madman. I placed the phone in my ear and spoke, feeling my heart about to burst.

"Hello? Doctor Shamal? What's the matter?" I asked rapidly.

"This the rain guardian? The girl's awake now. But, you might want to arrive quickly as she is trying to escape." he said.

"Alright. I'll be there within five minutes." I hurriedly hang up and gave the phone to Tsuna who just pointed at the door as he took it.

"Go, Yamamoto." he told me. "I'll bring you your things and notes later. For now, go."

"Thanks, Tsuna!" I yelled at him as I began to run the fastest I could go, quickly dodging people and obstacles along the way. Thankfully, I endured the kid's exercises so running this quickly didn't tire me out as I reached the hospital within three minutes (the distance between the school and the hospital was ten minutes). I ran through the stairs and finally reached her room, Y580* (can anyone guess why it's that room number without looking at the answer below?). I knocked twice before entering, not bothering to wait for someone to answer. Once I opened the door, I blinked in surprise, seeing Doctor Shamal pinning Sayomi in the ground. He looked up, his eyes narrowed, only to soften when he saw me.

"Here, kid." he said as he stood up, patting me in the shoulders as I hurriedly grab Sayomi who was trying to escape. "You can have her. I'll be leaving first; just call me once you're done. My number should be in your phone because of the Decimo."

He left and I placed Sayomi, who stopped struggling, in the bed as I sat on the chair beside it. There was awkward silence as I stared at her who was looking at her fists, avoiding my gaze. I got annoyed after a few minutes and decided to speak.

"Why." I asked as I continued looking at her, noticing how she slightly flinched from my voice. "Why did you join that famiglia, knowing full-well that they were the enemies of Vongola. Were you already part of them before meeting us? Was it your mission? What happened. Tell me."

She continued avoiding me in silence which frustrated me.

"Sayomi!" I finally shouted, losing my temper at her after a few minutes. "Answer me, please."

I slightly pleaded but I didn't care. I was tired from feeling so many contrasting emotions. I was exhausted from not being able to sleep because I kept thinking of it, of the past we used to have.

"Please." I whispered weakly, bowing my head in weariness. She finally spoke after a few more minutes of painful silence.

"I had no choice." she whispered, looking at the window where it was starting to rain.

"What do you mean?" I asked, confused at her statement.

"The Decimo never told you?" she asked me with a worn out smile as she finally looked at me. "I was offered as a sacrifice to the Defonois famiglia when I was eight years old in exchange of saving his and his wife's a*s because of the huge debt he owed them."

"Tsuna knew?" I asked unconsciously, trying to wrap my head at her confession. Is this what Tsuna means that there was something more going on then what I thought?

"Yes." she said while closing her eyes. "He found out while I was contacting Akuro to give my report. I asked him if he was going to tell on me but he said he wouldn't and that I should be the one to do it. I guess he fulfilled his promise."

"...What was your mission?" I asked her. At this, she opened her eyes again and smiled brokenly.

"To gain the trust of Vongola Decimo and kill him." she repeated in a robotic voice, her eyes looking distant. I frowned at her words.

"So that was the reason why you stabbed Tsuna before vanishing." I said. "But, why did you make it that someone heard you breaking the window of Tsuna's room? No, why did you attempt murder when all of us guardians and the kid were inside the house, just in different places? And, why did you stab him in a non-vital place? It would have been easy stabbing him in the heart or even in the eyes to at least make him invalid."

She stared at me sadly. "I guess you could say that I grew too attached to all of you and couldn't kill him."

Seeing that she wouldn't continue, I asked the one question I had in mind. The one question that haunted me for years after she seemingly betrayed us.

"Did you ever love me?" I asked, my voice cracking a little. "Truly love me and not just a mean to easily gain the trust of Tsuna?"

She looked at me before staring at the skies without replying to me. I felt my heart break and stood up, walking out of the room as I prepared to call Shamal to inform him that I was done. However, just as I completely closed the door, I heard her whisper something that ordinary people wouldn't hear. Fortunately, I had an excellent hearing.

"I did, Takeshi. I loved you so much every second I spent time with you hurt like h*ll because I knew I would have to betray you."
