You followed closely behind Lena as she paced along the path, towards a training courtyard. This was kind of the bit you'd been dreading. She led you into a square yard overlooking the ocean and clapped her hands together to get your attention.
"Alright Y/N, I know Jesse gave you a little go on the target range but I wanna work on your aim a little more. Don't want you getting yourself killed out there luv".
You felt like reminding her that you'd saved her life but decided that it would probably only get you a glare in response. All day she'd been carrying a large suitcase around with her and you'd wondered what it had been for but suddenly realised when she opened it up and pulled out some weapons.
"These are stun weapons, we use them in practice but you should set them down to power level 1. Any higher and they can cause damage" she explained, tossing you one of the pistols while taking one for herself. You tossed it from hand to hand and held it out in front of you, aiming down the iron sights.
"I'm gonna be your opponent. We'll say that...a body shot counts for one point and a headshot for two. First to five points is the winner luv, okay?" she said, walking into position on the other side of the courtyard. You nodded your head as she counted down from five with her fingers. Five. Four. Three. Two. One. Zero. The battle erupted as you quickly ran to the side and let off a few shots in her direction. She blinked to dodge them before firing a shot straight at your head, knocking you to the ground.
"No fair" you groaned as you pulled yourself up.
"The enemy won't be fair mate" she replied, dashing towards you with blink. You leapt to the side causing her to blink straight into a safety railing and enabling you to get a couple of hits on her body. You were now tied for two points as you circled one another, like a pair of tigers about to brawl. She fired another shot at your head which you closely dodged. You sprayed a series of shots at her, somehow managing to get another two body shots on her. You only needed one more point to win but you had a bad feeling that she would not allow you to gain that point easily. You were right. She blinked at you and knocked you to the ground, aiming at your head. You grabbed her pistol and shifted its aim to the ground next to you, struggling as she began to overpower you. She punched you in the gut, allowing her to regain her aim on your head. In the nick of time, you managed to get the advantage and flipped her, managing to get on top and aim your pistol at her. Before you could fire, however, she kicked up at you and sent you flying backwards. In the process she managed to get yet another headshot on you causing you to have even scores. It was now or never. Pulling yourself up, you ran towards her and fired every shot you had left, hoping to god for a hit. Luck was on your side. You achieved not one but three hits as Lena fell on the ground defeated. You breathed a sigh of relief and dropped the pistol while standing up tall. All of a sudden, she blinked at you and tackled you to the ground with a giggle.
"Whoa, didn't see that coming" you muttered as you tried to catch your breath.
"Like I said luv, enemies don't play fair" she replied with a big grin, poking your nose. You stayed that for a few seconds, dangerously close to one another when suddenly the bell for morning aerial training manoeuvres rang and brought you both back to reality.
"Right then, um...what next?" you asked, a little flustered.
"Should probably go to close quarters training" she replied, pulling herself up. You could have sworn you saw her blushing but it was probably just your imagination.
"Can't we take a break? I mean I did win. Surely that means something" you moaned, dusting yourself down and handing Lena the training pistol.
"Alright, I tell you what. I'll show you the zen gardens. Come on!" she said eagerly, dragging you along like an ecstatic puppy.
