Grand Admiral Stevens stood at the front of his bridge, looking out at the Moon ahead of him. The bridge was a high tech room, lined with computers where engineers sat, busily maintaining different parts of the battle cruiser. He took a deep breath as he prepared to initiate probably the first ever firefight that this ship had been involved in.

"All stations, report" he said in a gruff tone, his voice muffled slightly by his rough grey beard.

"Cannon control ready, shield control ready, reactor station ready, all stations are reported admiral" the XO reported with a salute.

"Right then, let's give these terrorists a taste of their own medicine" the admiral replied, pressing a large button on the dashboard and causing several UN shuttles to launch from the cruiser's hangar bays. The shuttles rushed forwards, their engines bursting with flames fuelled with antioxidants to survive the vacuum of space. The Talon vessels instantly began firing pulse rounds forwards, beginning a tense battle as the UN shuttles struggled to dodge the incoming shots. The UN pilot in command, a man named Commander Buzzard, flew the lead shuttle and skilfully weaved around the shots, performing several well timed barrel rolls while beginning to let off a few rounds with the pulse minigun attached to the underside of his own ship.

"All units, form up on me, give it everything we've got!" he shouted over the internal comms, causing the other UN shuttles to tighten up their formation and form a loose V formation behind his ship. In response, the Talon ships attempted evasive manoeuvres, flying as far apart from one another as possible. One of them flew straight at the fleet of UN shuttles, colliding with one of them in a suicidal manner and causing it to silently explode in a ball of flames that quickly extinguished itself in the vacuum. Buzzard flipped his shuttle on its side, pursuing one of the Talon gunships and firing at its main engines causing it to spin off uncontrollably for several seconds before exploding harmlessly and floating away. He then turned his head and observed his scanner inside the cockpit, tracking all other Talon signatures and moving to engage once more. The battle for Earth was now in full swing.

You and Lena stood for longer than intended, watching the whole thing through the window with interest. Neither of you noticed your hands intertwining in a secure movement, your two bodies subconsciously craving the safety of the other. A sudden jerk from the station, no doubt from another firefight in one of the other rooms, snapped you both back into reality and made you stare at one another.

"Luv, I've never been in a fight anything like this" she commented, a little panic rising in her voice.

"Relax, we'll be fine, now let's get a move on" you answered, secretly even more worried yourself but trying to act brave to console her. She nodded, quickly regaining her composure, and led the way down the facility's corridor. It felt like you had been running forever, and the fact that the stairs kept descending didn't particularly give you much hope either. It was as if you were being led as far away from the objective as you could be, you'd now gone underneath the surface of the Moon itself, the only view visible out of the few windows being small caves carved into the rock. But as all seemed lost, the two of you turned a corner and found yourselves in a circular control room of sorts. The chamber was full of computers, messily laid out to line the walls, each of which seemed to have a different purpose of sorts. The familiar and dreaded Sombra logo filled every screen but one, the final one showing thousands of lines of code that were updating every second. You and Lena shared a brief glance before jogging towards that final computer, doing your best not to trip over the maze of thick wires running along the ground. You reached the computer and attempted to type into the keyboard, frowning in frustration at your failed attempts to gain access.

"Dammit, the codes are on here but the computer is on full lockdown. It's running a program which automatically decrypts the codes while also keeping out anyone who tries to access it. And it looks like they're getting damn close to cracking it" you commented, hands sweating with the pressure.
