mistletoe

it was a snowy December morning in Toronto, Shawn had left for the studio in the early morning hours and (Y/N) decided to get the shared condo all ready for Christmas time! Putting on her favorite Christmas playlist, she brings the decorations from the storage closet near the door and begins her fun!

First putting up the tree, she can't help but smile as she pulls each ornament out from hers and Shawns childhood and how many memories they have in them. After successfully putting up the tree she starts placing the random decorations around the place which included some on the bar in the kitchen, a small tree in Shawn's home studio, some in the bathroom and the rest in the living room and their bedroom.

The last thing she pulls out is a mistletoe, well make thats two, she puts on a small smile as she places one above the front door and the other on the headboard of their bedpost, smiling at her accomplishments she begins to start on some cookies while munching on some lunch she had made but not before taking a quick video of the condo to send to shawn.

to shawn: all ready for the christmas festivities here! 🥰

after hitting send she goes back to her cookie making and right before starting to cut them out her phone goes off.

from shawn: looks beautiful love! heading home from the studio right now before it gets worse out! see you in 10 my sunshine! ❤️

she replies back real quick telling him to be safe and then proceeds to cut out the cookies and then pop them in the oven, as she waits for those she pauses the playlist and then goes over to start up Netflix and starts up a Christmas movie.

the over goes off a few minutes later and right as she pulls them out the front door opens to reveal her love, his hair covered in slight specks of snow and are slightly melting away, he smiles at her before hanging up his coat and taking his shoes off.

"hey sunshine!" she says, a slight blush rises to his cheeks at her nickname for him.

"hey babe." he says pulling her in for a hug and proceeds to go in for a kiss but she stops him before he can, he's a bit shocked but pulls back real quick.

"whats wrong love? don't you want my kiss?" he asks a bit sadly, she grins.

"of course i do, but we have to kiss at a certain spot!" she says as she leads him back to the front door, he gives her a confused look but doesn't question anything about it to her. She brings her hands to cup his cheeks softly before bringing down for a quick and soft kiss and after pulling away she gives a shy smile.

"okay, so may i ask why we had to kiss by the front door my love?" he pecks the top of her head before putting his head to hers.

"well we don't wanna break the tradition of the mistletoe baby!" she says pointing to the small decoration about them, shawn letting out a chuckle looks up at it before looking back down to her.

"you my darling are one smart cookie, best spot to receive the kisses in the house after a long day!" he says kissing her once again.

"we also have one above our headrest on our bed, so that way we always have a reason to give each other a goodnight kiss."

"we already do that though babe? i guess that just means extra though so i won't complain." he brings her in for a hug and she smiles at the feeling of being his arms.

"wanna help with frosting the cookies?" she asks gently pointing to the cookies still on the cooking try.

"of course I would love! but, before we do! one more kiss." he says, she giggles before placing a soft kiss onto his lips and a smile comes onto his before pulling away.

"cookie time my love!" she says softly before pulling him to the cookie tray and frosting on the kitchen bar!
