(y/n) always had a crush on shawn, well not always, it started in middle school. the two best friends had known each other since 3rd grade and after watching some of the girls be rude to her on her first day, shawn decided to be the bigger person and stand up for her and soon a friendship blossomed!

it was at her 13th birthday when she realized she liked shawn, all the other guest had left for the evening, the sun was starting to set and the two decided one last birthday swim was a must to do, the two swim as normal and as she throws on her goggles and dunks herself under once more and shawn does the same, she opens her eyes to find him doing the same only they're faces were very close to each other, she wasn't sure what this new feeling was in her stomach and she always thought it would be like the movies when she would have her first crush but then again she thought it wouldn't be her best friend the feelings would be for, the butterflies in her stomach erupt as he looked at her and she brings herself up from the water and swims to the edge.
bringing herself up she sits on the edge of watches as he brings himself up from the water as well only he stays for a moment, she admired him from where she was before he comes to sit next to her, the two are quiet and soon a cool wind blows causing her to shiver, shawn notices and goes to get her towel and drapes it around her shoulders.

"thank you shawn." she says and he smiles as he brings his towel around him.

"no problem. so, how was your 13th birthday?" he asks.

"honestly, really fun." she says not wanting to admit the sudden feelings she had for him.

"i'm glad, you ready to go in? i bet theres still some cake left over!" he says and she nods as he takes her hand, and eruption of butterflies comes to her as the two head into her house.

Cut to the pair now at 16, only this time the the two in his childhood home and (y/n) sobbing into shawn's shirt, her first heartbreak.
she had caught him cheating with another girl while out with shawn for a walk, it all went crashing down there.

he hated seeing her sad and whispered nothing but sweet nonsenses to her and how he wished her could steal the pain from her, he brings her face in his hands and wipes the tears from falling down her face.

"stop crying hun." he whispers as he brings his head to hers.

"i-i can't believe he did this to me." she sobs, his heartbreaks at the sound, he kept thinking if it were him he would never break her heart or cheat on her, he would treat her like she was his whole world, he would hold her tight and never let her go, kiss her every chance he got, take her out on a date every chance he got. His thoughts stop him, his breath hitches a little as his mind races. he liked her, he liked her alot and he wished so much he could just pull her into him and kiss the pain away, but he knew that would be wrong as she was vulnerable and that it would be taking advantage of the poor girl, he would only keep doing what he was doing, comfort her and make sure she had someone there for her in her time of sadness.

senior prom. the two decided after their junior prom was a disaster that the two would be each others prom dates for their senior year and here they were, shawn and his family had followed behind him as the four headed to the door step of her house, he was going to knock but was stopped by the door opening and there she stood.

she was breath taking, she wore a pink ballgown that wasn't too puffy and that was covered in flowers on the skirt and rhinestones covered most of the top half, her hair in a half up half down ponytail with beautiful curls in them and some glitter in her hair.

"wow. (y/n) you look beautiful." he says and she blushes.

"thank you shawn. you look very handsome as well!" she says and her mind was saying the same as his, he looked absolutely handsome, she was glad they went with gray suit as it complimented her baby pink dress well and the baby pink tie went perfect with it.
