Prologue

"Why do you hate me so much?" Hayley asked, her voice barely rising over a quiet whisper. Hayley has never done anything wrong to me. Hell, she's been nothing but nice to me. Even when I snapped at her in the cafeteria during lunch, she still continued trying to befriend me. But she doesn't remember me. She doesn't remember who I am, and that's what pisses me off the most. We were best friends, how could she forget me? I haven't even changed that much over the course of 12 years.
I chuckled flatly, my arms now folded over my chest. "Don't take it personal, sweetheart. I hate everyone." My voice was flat, little to no emotion showing. I had to keep my walls up no matter what. Especially around Hayley. She may think that sooner or later, she's going to break down my walls, but she's wrong. They're as thick as can be and no one has broken them.
"Don't you think that's a little negative?" Hayley asked.
Yes, I do think it's negative- a lot, actually. It's not true, though. I don't hate anyone without given reason to, but I can't let Hayley know that. As I said before, I have to keep these walls up no matter what.
I sighed, claiming the seat on the brick wall besides her. "Doesn't matter. Most people can take a hint when they're not wanted." I retorted. My voice was now sharp, a hard tone lacing to the edges. It wasn't my intention to come off as a royal bitch, but Hayley seems to frustrate me more than anyone ever has.
Hayley scoffed lightly. "I can take a hint,. I know you don't like me for some reason." She snapped.
"Then why the fuck do you continue bothering me? Why do you continue trying to befriend me? Why me? Why are you so nice? Why the hell can't you just leave me alone?" I barked. I didn't mean to yell at Hayley, but dammit, all those thing piss me off. Most people leave me be when they see that I don't have the patience to befriend anyone else, why can't Hayley be like them? Why can't she just leave me the fuck alone?
Hayley stayed silent for a long time. The expression of pain that had once been on her face had been replaced by a look similar to that of a statue- completely blank and absolutely emotionless. Hayley stood up, sighing heavily while doing so. "Fine." She finally said. Her voice was hard, any trace of kindness completely gone. "If you want me to leave you alone, then I will." She paused, pressing her lips together in a tight line. Hayley looked down at me, her green eyes locking with mine. "But if you really want to know why I never stopped trying to befriend you.... that's because... I like you, D." She announced. Hayley turned around and quickly began walking away, leaving me completely baffled.

I know I need to stop starting new fics while having 238343 others that aren't done, but I can't help it. I love Hayley Williams, I got an idea, and boom, here we are. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed this little prologue. Sorry for the short length, the first chapter will most likely be uploaded tonight ^-^
