I find it hard to believe how much someone can influence your life, how one person can change your entire view and perspective on things. The thought of living alone used to scare me. I was worried I'd end up a lonely old hag- someone incapable of being loved. I've never thought much of sappy relationships. Seeing as my first 'love' dumped me because of what others thought, I assumed all relationships were pointless bullshit. Friends with benefits sounded much more appealing.
Now that I think about it, friends with benefits sounds awful. The people who play those games always get attached, despite their strict 'no strings attached' rule. Ironic as it may sound, I think FWB is pointless crap created by the media for a sappy romantic-comedy that did alright.
"This movie sucks." I muttered. "The plot is so cliche that it's ridiculous. They agree to be friends with benefits, develop feelings, stay away from each other for a while and then get back together- It's bullshit. It feeds false hope to lonely cat women everywhere."
"It's not that bad." Jannah defended.
"No, it's terrible." Annoyed, I stood up from the couch and walked into the large kitchen. The snow outside never faltered and seemed to be covering every visible inch of the forest. Even from my bedroom, the lake wasn't visible anymore. The ice was covered by a heavy blanket of snow. Although the snow was beautiful, it annoyed me that the weather outside seemed to be affecting the atmosphere inside the cabin.
My eyes scanned the refrigerator, annoyed that there was absolutely nothing edible inside the fridge. Well, there was, but it was mostly vegetables and all that green crap. Thankfully, there was beer.
"Does anyone else want a beer?" I asked loudly.
"I do." Robin replied. I grabbed two beers from the fridge and walked back into the living room. I handed Robin the beer can and sat back down on the comfortable couch. Hayley was showering and honestly, I was beginning to grow bored with out her. It's our second day in the cabin (Christmas Eve being tomorrow) and all we've done today is watch crap movies.
"Also, we have no food in the fridge. All we have is stuff to make salads." I announced.
"Shit," Robin groaned. "We need to go to the store unless we're all fine with eating salad for the rest of the week."
"Should we go now?" Jannah asked.
Riot nodded, "Yeah, we should. It's barely two and the trip will take like two hours." She said. With that, Robin, Jannah and Riot stood up from the couch and headed towards the door. Since I was still a bit high, I decided to stay back.
I flipped through the channels, searching for something to watch. Family Guy was on, but I couldn't find myself getting into the plot. It was one of the older episodes where Stewie meets his 'brother'. I find it funny how I found myself more interested in the label on the beer can than the actual animated show. It's not that the show was boring, it's just I couldn't really find myself interested enough.
"Where'd everyone go?" Hayley walked into the living room. She was dressed in a black tank top, white shorts and a towel hanging over her shoulders.
"Uh," I tried to push away the dirty images that clouded my thoughts, "they all went to go get some food just now. They won't be back for another two hours or so."
Hayley sat down beside me, her small legs crossed underneath her. She didn't have any make-up on, but she still looked breath taking. How is it that I can have such cliche thoughts about someone like this?
