I woke up a few hours later. My arms were still locked around Hayley's small waist, but she was no longer sleeping. Her eyes were fixed on the television screen, the remote clutched in her hand. "Morning," she beamed brightly. I leaned forward and kissed her softy.

"Good morning." I can't think of a better way to wake up in the morning. Honestly, this is the first time in a while that I don't 'wake and bake'. I don't feel the need to get high. Not while I'm with Hayley, anyways. Her presence and aura seems to relax me enough that I don't even need to think about drugs, sex or booze. I'm perfectly content with just laying here with her.

"Are you hungry?" She asked after a few minutes of silence. Her green eyes locked with mine and she covered her hand with her mouth.

I frowned at her gesture. "Why are you covering your mouth?" I asked, confused.

Hayley laughed nervously, her cheeks flaring. "Uh," she shifted underneath me. "I have morning breath." I couldn't help but laugh loudly at her insecurities.

"Seriously?" I asked, still laughing.

"Shut up!" Hayley groaned, covering her face with her hands. "It's embarrassing, okay? I'm going to go brush my teeth." I moved away from the couch and watched as she walked to her bathroom. I had the strong urge to go and follow her, but I forced myself on the couch and blankly stared at the television screen.

I can't stop thinking about the entire situation. In less than twenty hours, one girl has managed to change my entire thoughts about various things. When I'm with her, I feel relaxed and oddly happy. Any ounce of anger I feel, it's surprisingly gone. Also, I realized that when I slept with Hayley, the nightmare didn't return. Maybe it's just a coincidence or something like that. Hopefully, the nightmare was just a one time thing and won't be returning anytime soon.

"Do you want some breakfast?" Hayley asked once she returned from the bathroom.

"Is it okay with you if I do?" I asked, suddenly feeling nervous. Jesus, what has this girl done to me?

Hayley nodded and grabbed a few pans from the cabinets. "Yeah, it's fine. Are you okay with just having eggs? It's all I have in stock right now." She shyly admitted.

"Yeah," I stood up from the couch and walked into the kitchen area. "It beats not eating breakfast at all." I quietly whispered.

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"Well, I'm running low on money. With getting my car back from the junkyard, and buying basic shit for my house, money's been tight. I'm probably going to have to get a job somewhere soon." I dreaded the thought of having to pick up a job and focus on school. I haven't even studied for any upcoming exams, and I haven't even thought about the senior project I'm supposed to get done.

How the hell am I even passing?

Hayley pursed her lips together, a concentrated look on her face. "Well, I can ask my manager at the cafe if there are any opening spots for you. I'm sure there will be because we're always short on staff for the busy days during lunch hour."

"Really?" My face lit up. Working doesn't sound appealing, but unless I want to continue skipping out on breakfast and lunch, I'm going to have to take anything that comes my way. It's winter break so i won't have to worry about school for a while, but even after, I think I can manage both. I'm just going to have to start getting my shit together and actually give a crap about my life.
