Louis stared at me with a look of hurt present in his eyes. "Megan... Why?" I looked back at him, and then I looked to the ground. I couldn't look in his eyes. Louis grabbed my shoulders and gripped me tightly. His eyes beamed aggressively into mine. "Megan. We need to talk about this. Why?" He repeated. I went over to the daybed and sat down, Louis taking the cue and following me. I took a deep breath and said, "Louis... The reason I was so mad that you didn't keep in touch was because when you were gone, I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety..." I said quietly. I hated those words. I didn't want to tell Louis what it really was- Major Depressive Disorder and Severe Anxiety. Louis' eyes looked at me, filled with pain. "Did they say what it was from?" I could tell that Louis was blaming himself. "No. There wasn't a cause... I'm just... Depressed." Louis' arm snaked around me, cradling me as tears escaped my eyes.

After a few minutes of me crying, Louis looked over at me with a gentle expression. He hesitated at first, but then whispered, "Can you show me...?" I looked up at Louis with a confused look on my face. His eyes pleaded with mine, and I gave in. I sighed as I rolled my shorts up all the way. Louis inspected the marks and scars thoroughly, and it made me somewhat uncomfortable. I had probably 12 or 13 scars on my leg, but they weren't major or terrible. He carefully placed his hand on my thigh, and he ran his finger over the scars, feeling the uneven surface. "Why this though...?" He asked me as his hand gripped mine. I took a deep breath and began.

"Louis, every day I feel like nobody loves me. Nobody cares. I feel as though there's a black cloud hovering over me every day. Everybody hates me. I'm just a burden. Nobody wants me around. I get anxious and scared over the most stupid things in the entire world. I've become so sensitive. This is my escape... It's a release of the pain."

Louis embraced me, my head nuzzled in his chest, and he whispered in my ear, "Megan Diana Henderson, I will do everything in my power to help you get better. I promise you that. I'll make you laugh when you want to cry. I'll help you through the rough patches. I'll be here for you- Always." Tears tugged at my eyes as Louis spoke to me. "I love you s-so much..." I said, as the tears silently ran down my face. Louis hugged me tightly to him, and I gripped the back of his shirt in my hands. I didn't want to let him go.
