Sorry...

"I don't think I can do this." Scott said standing outside of the autopsy room. Mitch took his hands in his.

"You don't have to honey. We can go home." Mitch assured him but Scott shook his head.

"No I have to know that he is really gone." He said and Mitch squeezed his hand. They walked into the room and hand in hand.

"You two can say your goodbyes." The coroner said before leaving them alone with the body. The approached the gurney holding Alex's body with a white sheet covering half way up his chest.

Scott let go of Mitch's hand and walked a few steps so that he was standing next to Alex's chest. He looked down at the man who ruined his life and he didn't know what to do.

He didn't know if he should feel guilty or if he should be sad. He knew he felt relieved but he hated the fact that someone's death could bring him relief.

But then again this wasn't just someone. This was Alex. His abusive ex husband that still haunts him to this day even though he's dead and he thought he was dead for the past year.

"This was a bad idea." Scott said looking away and starting to walk past Mitch, "I need some air."

"Scott..." Mitch called but Scott was already gone. Mitch ran out after him and found him outside pacing biting his nails. He looked up, glanced at Mitch before continuing to pace.

"Scott... are you okay?" Mitch asked cautiously and Scott nodded as he continued to pace. He stopped suddenly and looked over at Mitch a few feet away from him.

"Actually no I'm not! I don't know what to do! He's actually gone now but I still don't fucking feel safe! My fucking fiancé can't even touch me without me panicking and flinching away. He came back into my life for two second and he sent me crumbling back down again. When did I become so fragile!? When did I become the hopeless victim. I don't want to be this anymore!" He broke down sobbing and fell into Mitch's arms.

Mitch rubbed his back as he sobbed, "I'm broken... there's no hope for me." Scott took his head into his hands pulling it up so that Scott would look at him.

"Scott look at me," Mitch said staring into the blue orbs, "You will feel safe again I promise. He's gone he's no threat to you anymore and soon you will really realize that. You have me and you have Kevin and Avi and even Kirstie in your corner and we will bring you back. You're going to be happy again. We're going to get married and we'll spend our lives together and go on adventures and sing! We'll raise Leah and she'll become an amazing person. There is hope Scott. There is always hope. There is always that light in the hallway."

Scott slammed his lips onto Mitch's and wrapped his arms around him pulling him closer. They pulled away a few seconds later. "I'm so lucky to have you. I don't deserve you." He whispered resting his forehead against Mitch's.

"Oh Scottie you deserve the world." Mitch said smiling lightly.

"I love you so much." Scott whispered, "why didn't I marry you first? This all would have been solved if I had grown a pear and asked you out." Mitch giggled.

"I really didn't think you liked me back then." Mitch said pulling away to look up at him smiling, "I knew it was obvious that I liked you but I didn't think you liked me back."

"I only started dating Alex to distract myself. I was so in love with you and I was heartbroken because I thought you didn't like me." Scott said shaking his head and Mitch smiled.

"I feel like a lot of problems would have been avoided if we had gotten over ourselves and just admitted our feeling towards each other." Scott said looking back down to Mitch's lips.

Mitch giggled and kissed his lips lightly, "But hey, we have each other now." Scott smiled into the next kiss.

"I need a break. Can we go somewhere? Just got on a plane. Let's go to Iceland! We can ask Kevin and Avi to watch Leah! And we can just go!" Scott was shaking Mitch's hands in his.

Mitch laughed shaking his head, "Scott we can't just go to Iceland." Scott shook his head not taking no for an answer.

"Why not!? Give me one good reason why we shouldn't go to Iceland. If I spend one more second in this city I'm going to explode." Mitch looked at him and laughed.

"Fine, fine! We'll go to Iceland." Mitch said and Scott tackled him into a hug.

"Thank you thank you thank you!" Scott exclaimed before pulling away and taking out his phone, "I'm going to call Kevin and Avi right now!"

Mitch looked at the love of his life jump in excitement, something he hadn't seen in a long time. He smiled widely when he got a call.

An ambulance roared into the parking lot but that was normal. They were at a hospital.

He looked at the caller ID to see Leah's friends mom's number. "Hey Jen, how's it going?"

"Mitch I'm so sorry." She said in a strained voice and sounded as if she had been crying.

"What happened?" He asked trying to keep calm.

"Leah and Kaytie were playing out in the street and a car came speeding around the corner... Leah was hit... I'm so sorry." Mitch heart sank.

"Is she okay!? Did you call an ambulance!?" He asked loudly and Scott started to walk back towards him with a smile on his face.

"I rode in the ambulance with her. We just pulled into Saint Marcus." Mitch immediately ran into the hospital.

"What? Mitch?" Scott chased after him confused. Mitch had hung up on Jen and was about to call her back to find out where they were when a gurney came flying through some doubled doors right in front of them.

There was a nurse doing CPR on the young girl and Mitch's heart stopped. Scott still hadn't realized that his daughter was the one that was on that gurney.

"Come on..." the paramedic said as he continued CPR past them. They were in a surgery room within seconds and Jen had come behind them.

She stopped in front of them with tears in her eyes, "I'm so sorry." She whispered and Scott finally realized what was happening.

"Wait..." Scott said looking at the surgery doors in shock. "No...no no no no no...Mitch! I can't handle this... I can't..." he started to panic and Mitch was by him in a second.

Mitch wrapped his arms around him, "it's okay. It's gonna be okay. She's going to be okay. I need you to keep it together for me right now okay?" He caressed Scott's cheeks with his thumbs.

"Can you do this for me. We need to have hope right now. Please have hope for me... I need you to have hope for me right now. I can't do this on my own okay? I need you." He said and Scott nodded bringing Mitch closer.
