Flashback:

"Where on earth are you taking me?" Scott asked laughing as Mitch turned onto a back road off the freeway. Mitch shook his head smiling.
"I don't know why you keep asking, you know I'm not going to tell you." Mitch glanced at him before returning his eyes to the road. Mitch pulled into what looked like an abandoned parking lot. He got out and quickly ran to Scott's door. He opened it for him making Scott laugh.
He closed it behind him and started walking down a small hill in a sea of trees. Scott followed on his heels still confused as to wear they were going and how on earth knew about this. They walked through the brush and came to the edge of a river.
The sun was setting and the small breeze moved the top of the water in different directions. It was truly beautiful. Scott stopped and looked around in awe, "Wow, Mitch this is-"
Mitch cut him off, "C'mon there's a place I wanna show you!" he said grabbing his hand. He dragged Scott along the river and through the trees. They came to a small clearing on the side of a very tall hill. Scott looked up and saw a hole in the side of the hill.
"Come on." Mitch said when Scott had stopped. Mitch led him up the hill before they came in front of a small roomy cave. Someone had cleared out this small cave. Mitch crawled into it and grabbed a blanket out of the corner and spread it onto the floor of the cave. He sat down to one side and patted a spot next to him.
Scott crawled in and sat next to him. "Mitch, how did you find this place?" he said looking around. Mitch smirked and looked around as well.
"I have my ways." Scott looked at him and was overwhelmed with the urge to kiss him. Scott looked down immediately, he shouldn't be thinking that about his best friend. Especially because he's married.
"Wow, Mitch. This place... it's beautiful." Mitch smiled.
"This is kind of like my safe place. Whenever I just need to clear my head or if I just need some peace and quiet I come here."  Mitch looked over at Scott who was still looking around with a small smile on his face. "It can be that for you too."
Scott looked back at him, his eyes lingering on Mitch's. "thank you Mitch. Sometimes I feel... like I'm trapped... maybe this can be my escape."
Mitch nodded, "I know we've grown apart these past few months but I will always be here for you Scott. If you ever want to talk."
Ever since Scott married Alex the boys had spent less and less time together. At first Mitch wasn't sure exactly why but he figured that Alex was just a little jealous of Mitch.
Scott nodded, "Thank you Mitch. Same goes for you." Mitch nodded looking down, "So any love interests?" Scott asked wiggling his eyebrows.
Mitch giggled shaking his head, "Maybe some one."
"Oooo do tell."

Mitch drove as Scott messed with the aux cord. Scott thought they were just going to the store but Mitch had a surprise. Scott turned on the Queen and the two belted it out like they used to do years ago.
Scott knew something was up when they passed the exit for the grocery store.
"Mitchie?" Scott asked as the song ended turning down the volume.
"Yeah Scottie?" Mitch asked with a small smile as he looked ahead at the rode.
"Where are we going?" He asked Mitch smirked before shrugging. Scott giggled staring at him. "You're not going to tell me are you?" Mitch laughed shaking his head.Mitch turned the volume back up and started to sing loudly.
Scott knew where they were going as soon as Mitch got off at the exit. "The cave?" Scott asked and Mitch just smiled looking ahead.
After that night at the cave Scott had gone there dozens of nights that alex had passed out after beating him. Scott hadnt been there with Mitch since.
They pulled into the parking lot and this time Scott jumped out and ran to open the door for Mitch. Mitch giggled, "Wow, such a gentleman."
Scott bowed, "I try." He placed a gentle kiss on the shorter mans lips. Mitch hummed and intertwined their fingers. They walked hand in down the small hill to the river.
They walked contently in silence appreciating the beauty around them. They approached the cave and quickly climbed up the hill. Scott then noticed the flickering light coming from inside the cave.
He slowed his movements and saw that there were small candles placed around the cave. There was a blanket with a a few pillows at the end and rose petals scattered about the blanket.
Scott's other hand went to cover his mouth as tears welled in his eyes. "Mitchie..." he looked from the cave to the beautiful man next to him.
Mitch grinned, "Come on! Now it's cozier!" Mitch pulled him into the cave. They sat across from each other on the blanket. Scott looked around in awe for what the boy had done for him.
Mitch got on his knees and pulled something from the corner of the cave. He pulled out a large red sheet and he crawled over to the opening of the cave.
He pinned it up so that it covered the opening so that it was now a dimly lit "room" with a tint of red. Scott stared at him and let a few tears fall before he quickly wiped them away.
"Thank you so much Mitchie." He said and Mitch smiled. Scott pulled him into his chest. They laid down on some of the pillows. Mitch rested his head on Scott's chest and Scott ran his fingers up and down Mitch's back.
"I love you so much Mitchie." He whispered pressing a kiss to Mitch's hair. Mitch smiled before sitting up.
"You're the love of my life Scottie." He said looking into Scott's eyes, "I don't know if you knew this but I've been in love with you for years. I realized I was in love with you when we won the sing off. I used to get all giddy whenever you would talk to me... which was a lot because you're my best friend."
Scott giggled but continued to listen intently. "You are the most beautiful gorgeous man I've ever met but that's not why I fell in love with you. I fell in love with every little detail about your personality, about your everything. I fell in love with your ambition and how it drove and still drives me to do the things I believe in. I fell in love with the way to tilt your head back and cover your mouth when you laugh really hard. I fell in love with your hugs. Whenever you wrapped your arms around me it made me feel warm in safe no matter where we were."
Mitch took a breath, "I'm never going to leave. I'm never going to love without you because I can't. When you got married and I was being pushed away I wanted to just leave and forget about you but I couldn't. You were always my rock, my strength, my stability, and my happiness. Nothing's changed since the day I fell in love with you except that you're here with me right now loving me back. I never really thought that that was even a possibility but things have changed."
Scott had tears in his eyes as he stared at the love of his life, "I don't ever want you to leave my side. I want to be with you and next to you until the day I die. So, Scott." He looked up at him and pulled the tiny box out of his pocket.
He took a nervous breath, "Will you marry me?"
