"And if, you don't love me now, you will never love me again. I can still hear you saying, you would never break the chain."
The words echoed through my mind as I sang them with the rest of the band. It had been a week since my little kiss with Lindsey. No one knew about it except us, I'd like to keep it like that. After the show Lindsey pulled me into his dressing room, "We need to talk." he said firmly. I gulped, nodding. "I know Linds."
"What happens doesn't mean anything between us right?" Lindsey looked me in the eyes. His icy blue eyes looked back at mine, "No, we're just friends. It was a kiss we slept in the same bed nothing else. Lets just move on." I mumbled. I didn't love Lindsey, not like that anyways. He hugged me tight, "If you ever need anything I'm here you know." he whispered into my hair. "Thanks Lindsey." I smiled.
We left the dressing room while everyone was talking and getting ready to head back to the hotels. "What were you two doing?" Stevie asked. "We were planning some things, don't be nosy Steph." I joked. Mick put his hands on her shoulders, "Birthday plans Stevie, don't ruin the surprise." he wiggled his eyebrows. Stevie gasped, "Oops! Sorry you two." She walked over to Christine and they left the venue. Mick wrapped his arms around our shoulders, "So what's the plan for our young Stephanie on her birthday?" I looked to Lindsey. He thought for a minute, "We're thinking a big party maybe in Vegas, what do you think?" Mick clapped his hands, "Great idea! We'll have to get Christine on this."It was just Lindsey and I in the elevator, the silence was awkward it pained me. We were never like that, ever. I turned to face him, "We gotta plan a party now." Lindsey face palmed himself, "I totally forgot, I'll get on that soon." The metal doors opened and we both stepped off the elevator onto our floor. "Night Lindsey." I whispered as I opened the door to my room.
Of course we planned our party for Stevie, it was great! Huge! So on May 26 1979, we had a beautiful party for our gorgeous Stevie. We invited anyone who was anyone and all of Stevie's friends.Stevie and I were in our house doing our finishing touches on our hair and makeup. "Em, you think this is okay?" Stevie came into the bathroom holding a dark red lipstick. I put my comb down to study my petite friend's makeup. "I love it! Seriously Stevie you're amazing with makeup!" Stevie giggled finishing off her makeup. I brushed my hair out of my eyes, "Ready Steph?" She nodded, "Of course! This is my surprise party!" she added finger quotations as she said surprise party. She always expected these parties but of course she played along with the surprise. This year Lindsey and I really went all out with the party, after our little moment earlier we felt guilty.
Stevie and I ran out the door, locking it behind us. Lindsey opened the car door for us, he got a limo of course! "Oh thank you kind sir!" Stevie said as she ducked into the large black car. "My pleasure ladies." Lindsey closed the door behind him as he climbed in.
"Ready for a fabulous dinner girls?" Lindsey asked us as we arrived at our destination. "Yes!" Stevie answered for both of us. She was so excited, I loved it. Lindsey opened the door and jumped out of the car, "For the birthday girl only, Emily and I will guide you into this wonderful restaurant!" Stevie linked arms with us as we walked in, "Close your eyes." I whispered."Ta-da!" We exclaimed while Stevie gasped...
