"Mark, my man! Look at this, they're finally ready to meet us!" Ian said to Mark, who was frantically typing something in his laptop. Mark almost threw his laptop away when he read the message Ian was showing him.
"yes! Oh my God..this is..I got to tell dad!" he quickly took his phone out, "I can finally see hope now.." he whispered
~Haneul was standing outside the apartment building when Ash came back home, he didn't seem to notice Ash as he was busy reading something. Ash waved at him, but got ignored, unintentionally.
"good day to you too.." she muttered as she walked past him, which he didn't hear either
Ash turned to look at him, before she could say anything a car came and stopped in front of Haneul, the chauffeur quickly got out and opened the door for Haneul, and Haneul got inside without a word.
"I'm seeing all kinds of things today.." Ash whispered, confused, "ah whatever.."~
Haneul buttoned his coat as he walked out of the office to receive his guests.
"Mr. Seung.." before his guest could finish his sentence Haneul said, "Haneul, just call me Haneul. We finally meet Mr.Mark.." Haneul bowed and shook hands
"ah..yes..yes, Mister..Haneul.." Mark was taken aback for a moment.
"please come this way.." Haneul lead the way to the meeting room
~
Even though Haneul was sitting in the boss seat, he didn't utter a single word throughout the meeting. He agreed to what the director agreed to.
When the meeting was over, everyone but Haneul and Mark left the room.
There was silence at first, "why don't you join us for lunch?" Haneul asked
"I would love to, but I have a previous appointment I have to attend to..some other time, perhaps?" Mark replied
"of course..", Haneul said getting up from his seat, "let's work hard together.." he bowed and as he was leaving he bumped into someone.
"oh! I'm so sorry!" the man bowed apologetically
"it's alright, it's my fault I wasn't looking carefully..oh..your coffee..what should we do?" Haneul quickly bent down to pick the cup up,
"it's alright, I ruined your clothes.." the man replied
"Mr.Haneul..it's alright, he'll clean it up..you please go wash your coat..it'll get stained.." Mark said, Haneul got up and left.
"Ian..I know he looks like he has no major role in this company or let alone the project but spilling coffee is too much.." Mark joked
"man I swear I didn't mean to spill it over him..by the way, who is he?" Ian asked, looking at the direction Haneul went
"he's the so called CEO of this company.." Mark whispered, "let's go man, we need to get you ready.." he continued."I saw in the dramas that these young CEOs get really angry when someone spills something on them, I hope this won't affect the project.." Ian said before getting in the car,
"that only happens in dramas, plus you did see how he didn't even say a single word throughout the whole meeting, he nodded to what the director said just as we nod our heads in a classroom..even though we understand nothing.." Mark said, "come on! we need to celebrate today..your last night as a free man!"~
"oh! it's the ignorer!" Ash said when she saw Haneul getting out of the lift
"..Ash..hi.." he replied
"what's wrong? you sound a bit..off.." Ash asked
"no nothing really..", Haneul said forcing a smile, "you're going to the hospital?" he asked
"..no, I am just getting back..this is the third time I'm coming back..but I get a night off tomorrow so that's good.." Ash explained
"that's nice.." Haneul replied as he took his card out to open the door"what is it? did something happen at the office?" Ash asked, concerned because Haneul was definitely not acting like himself today
"no, office was great, I attended yet another meeting..it was fun, I learned a lot today.." Haneul replied, faking some enthusiasm
"..okay, if you say so..", Ash opened her door and before going inside whispered, "you do remember we're friends right?" and she went insideAsh was sitting in the balcony looking at the cars and enjoying the city lights when she heard the bell door ring. She excitedly ran to open the door because she knew who it was.
"Haneul!" Ash opened the door, she was right. It was Haneul, he looked embarrassed and shy,
"..I..have, are you..can we talk?" He asked,
"sure.." Ash said
"here..lets talk here..it's too late for me to go inside right now.." Haneul said, so Ash nodded
"what is it?" Ash raised her eyebrows,
"yesterday..Yuna was talking about someone named Aeri right?" Haneul asked
Ash simply nodded
"..so she's getting married tomorrow..and..she has invited me too.." Haneul continued, "if you're free tomorrow..would you like to go there with me?" Haneul finally asked
Ash looked at Haneul as if she was waiting for a joke but when he didn't say anything , she seriously considered his offer
"you're serious? what about Yuna? isn't she going with you?" she asked
"Yuna already has plans with her boyfriend..If you don't want to go, or can't go, it's alright..I..I understand.." Haneul said
"no..I'll go..I shouldn't be saying this but I kind of figured that she's your..ex..probably? and you guys broke up and now she's getting married and being the true gentleman you are, you can't really say no..As a friend, I'll go with you..to keep you company and to eat cake!" Ash said excitedly, she also jumped a little thinking about the cake.
Haneul finally relaxed a bit and smiled, "bro you're really good at understanding the situation..so I'll see you at 6 tomorrow, okay?" Haneul said and Ash nodded.
