Chapter 3
Aiden's POV
Staring into the same familiar eyes of that snake, I nodded to the people quietly sitting around the table looking at me.
"I apologize for my lateness, my car got taken away by a close family member who will no longer be alive after this meeting. Now, shall we start?" I questioned while walking further into the room as Natalie followed quickly before taking a seat next to me. As the meeting commenced, my father continued to eye me, a curious glint flashing in his eyes every now and than. I knew he had questions for me but I was going to hold that off until after the meeting and after I finish strangling Julian. Much to his displeasure.

Natalie's POV
Throughout the entire meeting, Aiden had this look upon his face. One that even I couldn't explain. Was he mad about me not showing up yesterday? I would have called him if I found my cellphone, but the only person who knew of its location was my daughter, Raigh-lee. And I highly doubt that she'll give it back to me anytime soon since she believes that I am going to leave her back at another daycare center. Sighing to myself quietly, I tuned back into the meeting as Aiden and the other CEO stood up and shook hands before smiling at each other while everybody else in the room began to stand. Quickly standing to my feet, I also shook the CEO's hand as he smiled at me.
"It was good talking to the both of you and you too." The man smiled while looking over at Aiden's father and younger brother. "Until next time." He added before walking out with his business partner and personal assistant. Sighing quietly again, I was caught off guard when Aiden gently patted my back.
"Wanna go get some coffee at the coffee shop across the street after I finish strangling somebody?" He questioned as I just stared at him. Was I caught? Did he find out that I wasn't paying attention to the meeting? "What do you say, Natalie? Or we could go get breakfast." He stated while heading towards Julian who quickly shielded his neck.
"So, you're Natalie Atkinson? Your father has told me a lot about you." Jackson, Aiden's father stated while stepping around his sons before shaking my hand as I stared up into his mahogany brown eyes. Smiling back at him, I nodded slightly, still trying to figure out this family. The Sampsons were known by many and it was no secret about them and their large family.
"Umm...I apologize for not showing up yesterday. My daughter doesn't like being in daycares or being away from me for a long period of time." I stated while bowing slightly as Mister Jackson started laughing quietly before pushing a few of his dark brown strays away from his face.
"I've been there. Four times actually, so I know exactly how you feel. Aiden was exactly like that when he was younger. He even got to the point where he hid my phone or threw it into the toilet so that I wouldn't go anywhere even though he had his mother there with him." He laughed while holding his stomach as I looked pass him and at Aiden and Julian as they now stood on opposite sides of the table. "But, its okay. I'm sure my son understands the situation too." He added after he straightened up his blue suit jacket before noticing my curious face. "With Lucy's children." He quickly added as I smiled and nodded. "They took a quick liking to him when they were babies. Hopefully, he won't stress himself out too much. Please take care of my son, Natalie." He stated while smiling down at me as I quietly nodded before he stepped between an angry looking Aiden who was currently jacking up an even angrier Julian. "I think it's about time for us to leave for now. I don't need your mother killing me." He stated sternly while pushing Aiden away from Julian before guiding the angry teen towards the door. "It was great meeting you, Miss Atkinson." Aiden's father shouted over his shoulder as the doors closed behind him while Aiden turned to me with his hands in the pockets of his gray suit pants.
"So, what do you say, Natalie? Coffee or breakfast? Its on me since you brought me to work." He questioned while smiling over at me as I couldn't find my voice. Why was I acting like this? What is wrong with me? Still at a lost of words, I nodded quickly while picking up my purse. "I guess we can do both then we'll go check in on Lucy and Raigh-lee. Sounds good?" He added as I looked up at him in surprise. This was the first time that somebody's considered my feelings over their own.
"Wow." I whispered as Aiden's eyebrow rose in questioning. "Ahh, I mean yes. Let's go for both then go see about Lucy and Raigh-lee. Thank you in advance, Aiden." I smiled as he returned it back while taking my hand in his and guiding me out the door and towards the elevators.
"Trust me, it's better if we stick close together. The lunch rush will begin soon and if we don't get out of here quickly, the work will pile up on us quicker than you can say Raigh-lee." He stated as we hopped into the elevator as the doors closed quickly. At first, I thought Aiden was just messing around, but it didn't take long to realize that he was telling the truth as the elevator soon became crowded and let's just say, I wasn't the person to love being in crowds. Or closed in areas. Quietly squeezing Aiden's hand, I moved closer to him to relieve the feeling of being around strangers. I barely knew Aiden but he was closer to an acquittance than these people. To my surprise, he squeezed my hand back as I quickly looked up to meet the smile that greeted his lips. He was just like his twin. They were both nice no matter what.
Where have these people been my entire life?
