Chapter 18
Aiden's POV
Staring at the one person I could trust the most, I quietly awaited his answer on such a delicate topic while pacing back and forth around my office.
"I say take it easy." He stated while peering up at me as I raised my eyebrow at his simple answer. "Think about it. You two have been in a relationship for almost a month and a half, right?" He asked as I nodded. "But, you've known each other for awhile thanks to her parents knowing us. Hmm, I think you should take it easy. She might look okay on the outside but she might be unstable on the inside. The place that affects her the most is here." He stated while pressing his hand against his chest as I stared into the same mahogany brown eyes that we've all inherited.
"Dad." I groaned while rubbing my hands down my face. "Just let me go beat the crap out of that prick and their lives will be so much better. I'll leave him alive but I won't promise you anything because from what I've been told, that bastard deserves to die." I spat through gritted teeth while staring at my dad. "Because of him, she was deprived of her joy and had to fight to protect herself and Raigh-lee! Did you know that the only way Natalie escaped with Raigh-lee was because Lucy and her family intervened with the police?! Did you know that Lucy found Natalie beaten and bruised?! No man has a right to lay his hands on a woman nor a child! Why do you keep holding me back from putting a bullet between his eyes or beat him like he did Nat?! Why?!" I shouted while flinging a few papers off my desk as my father remained silent. The more Lucy revealed to me, the more I wanted his blood. I wasn't expecting to hear about Natalie's past until she was ready. But, Lucy knew that I needed to be warned just in case something happened and she told me everything. Every little detail.
"One, lower your voice because Natalie's business doesn't need to be publicized. Two, take a seat and breathe before you kill over." He ordered calmly as I sat down in my seat behind the desk. "Now, the only reason why I'm holding you back is because those two ladies depend on you. They need safety and protection. They can't get that if you're locked up without bail. It doesn't matter how rich we are, it still won't help you. Yeah, I understand you like Natalie as your girlfriend but you have to understand that she is the one who has to find closure. You think killing him might be your answer but what about hers? Would that be her answer? What about Raigh-lee when she grows up?" He asked while staring at me as I kept quiet. "Exactly. Wait until those two have found their closure to this nightmare. Once that is settled, I'll let you go." My father stated wisely while leaning back in his seat as I took his words into consideration. "Oh! Before I forget, think about how Natalie feels. Can you see behind those false smiles or are you just as blind as the rest of the world?" He questioned while standing up as his phone beeped before he pulled it out of his pocket and looked at it. "Gotta go. Your mom and I are going out for some lunch then we'll probably go take a walk on the pier. Don't stay too late." He added as he hurried out the door, leaving his words still hanging in the air. Sighing, I turned and looked out the window as I thought about my father's words carefully. Today was going to be an interesting day.

Sighing, I quietly unlocked the door to my apartment before stepping in and closing it behind me. I was greeted by the tangy smell of spices and cooked meat before I could even pass the threshold.
"Welcome home." Natalie greeted while rounding the corner from the kitchen as I took in her outfit. A dark purple silhouette covered her body like a second skin while failing to hide the sexy lingerie beneath it that hugged her bosoms and her curves perfectly. Today was going to be the day I die. I thought to myself while meeting her eyes as she smiled. "I cooked us some dinner and maybe later, we could have some dessert." She added as I gently placed down my briefcase before walking towards her. As she quietly watched my every movement, I noticed the slight tremors she gave off. Sighing quietly to myself, I stared down at the beautiful lady in front of me.
"Natalie." I stated while placing my hands on her shoulders. "You're not ready for this. I see it in your eyes. Listen, I know you haven't found your closure with that monster, so I'm not going to force you to have sex with me. When the time comes, I would like to make love to you and show you just how different William and I are." I smiled as she stared up at me for a few seconds before smiling. "I'm not rejecting your offer, I'd just prefer that we make love when you're comfortable with this entire thing. Plus, save those for a later time." I whispered while kissing her forehead as she blushed. "Now that that's settled, why don't we eat dinner and watch some movies on the couch? We could watch your favorite movies." I smiled as she perked up at my offer before smiling.
"Can we start with The Wolf Children?" She questioned as we made our way towards the kitchen. "Or Howl's Moving Castle?" She added with excited eyes as she quietly handed me a plate full of food before grabbing hers.
After eating Natalie's delicious food and going through one animated movie, we just decided to cuddle up on the couch for the rest of the night because we were both too lazy to move from the comfort of the other's warmth.
