Natalie's POV
After two weeks of being away from work, I decided to suck up my problems and be a big girl. During those two weeks, Aiden has put up with Raigh-lee and I with so much patience that I sometimes question myself on how I became so blessed to have him in my life. He also took us out sometimes or we'd just hang back at his apartment and relax. Something that I needed badly. And now, here I was. Sitting behind my desk, working on the large piles of paper while Raigh-lee played with her toys in her playpen.
"Knock knock, Miss CEO." Somebody spoke as I glanced up at the guy poking his head in through the crack of my door. Quieting nodding for him to come in, I returned back to my paperwork. "Hello, ma'am. Thank you for giving me a chance on building my project. I just wanted to swing by and thank you in person." The young man smiled as I looked up at him before standing.
"Yuki Mitsuo, it's a pleasure to be working with you. I'm glad that you found me because your art is just magnificent." I smiled while shaking his hand and smiling as his dark brown eyes stared back at me. "I would like to apologize for not being able to thank you ahead of time. Some things occurred and I had to be absent for awhile. Please sit." I nodded towards the chair behind him as I took my seat behind the desk. "How is the project going, Mister Mitsuo?" I questioned while smiling over at him as he quietly scratched the back of his head before smiling back at me.
"Awww, Miss CEO. You don't have to be so formal with me. I'm only a eighteen year old boy." He quietly laughed while rubbing the palms of his hands on his dark blue jeans before sweeping a dark brown wisp of hair out of his face. "It's going great compared to a few weeks back. I umm....was going through something at that time and I couldn't really focus on the right things. But, I'm okay now." He stated with a nod as I sighed.
"Yuki, you're just now starting off your life. An inspiring artist like you shouldn't let certain obstacles block your way to succession, but I also know that sometimes those obstacles can block our view and make us feel like we're drowning. During those times, we feel like the entire world is against us and we're constantly living life in the darkness." I stated quietly while Yuki watched me sternly as if my words were similar to his situation. "At that time, we also feel like failures at life and if it gets even worse than that, we feel like we want to completely give up. Permanently. End it all because we feel that nobody would care if we're gone." I added while looking up at him as he quietly wiped his eyes. Quickly pulling a few tissues from the dispenser, I leaned across the desk and handed them to him as the tears began to spill from his eyes. "But, that's where we're wrong. We are so far gone that we don't realize that there are people trying to pull us from that darkness until we've done something that almost took us away from those people. The people who actually do care for us. The people that are trying to help us over that thousand foot wall that stands in our way in succeeding. I've been through the same thing, but it continued on with me for two years straight. I don't know what's been going on in your life, Yuki, but I want you to know that even though the darkness might never go away, there are still people who are your crutches for finishing that race. And since I've met up with you a few times, I feel as if you're my child. It's just the mother in me, but you can depend on me too because I have faith in you. If you ever feel as if the world is collapsing in on you, let me know. Just give me a call." I stated with a nod as Yuki quietly cleaned himself up before nodding. "Oh! Also, there's going to be a Art Gala this weekend and I got two tickets for you and your lady. I would love it if you'd join us, but I understand if you don't want to. Just this once." I smiled while pulling an envelope from my desk before handing it over to him.
"Thank you so much, Miss CEO. I'll just have to see, but thank you." He nodded while standing up before walking towards the door. "Miss CEO? What would you do if the love of your life was mad at you for something that you don't know?" He asked while turning back to me as I thought back on that before shaking my head.
