Chapter 31: Wait, What?!?!

{Carrie's POV}

A couple days passed and Malcolm finally called us into the studio to review and edit the record. Everything went great and I couldn't be any happier about how it turned out! 

*A couple days later*

I wanted coffee so I decided to go through the Starbucks drive-thru. I pulled into the driveway, ordered my usual, and drove up to the window. With exactly five dollars and sixteen cents in my hand, I gave it to the cashier. She walked away and in the meantime I heard faint music in the distance somewhere and it kind of sounded like me. I was curious and I assumed it was coming from inside Starbucks so I unbuckled my seatbelt and leaned out the window trying to get as close as possible to inside so I could hear what song was playing. All I heard was "deep" and I knew it was it. I retracted my body back into the car but I did it too fast out of excitement and hit my head on the top of my door. 

Carrie: OUCH!

I yelled, touching my hand to the area where I had hit. The cashier came back with my drink.

Cashier: Here you go!.......Are you alright?

Carrie: Yeah, I'm fine thanks. Just a headache, that's all.

I lied. Well I partially lied. Since I'd hit my head I'll probably get a headache for real. I drove off and raced home. When I got home I pushed the front door open so hard and immediately yelled Brad's name.

Carrie: BRAD?! BRAD?!?!?

Brad came around the corner and I stopped dead in my tracks, almost falling over from stopping too fast.

Brad: What? Haha. Why are you so full of energy?

Carrie: I HEARD IT!

Brad: Heard what?

Carrie: Oh Love! I heard it!!

Brad: No way?! WHERE?!

Carrie: I went through the Starbucks drive-thru because I wanted coffee and I heard it playing inside!

Brad: Oh my gosh! It's already on the radio and Malcolm didn't tell us?!

Brad immediately picked up his phone and called Malcolm.

Malcolm: Hello?

Brad: Malcolm! Carrie just said she heard Oh Love on the radio a little bit ago! How come you didn't tell us it was going to air!

Malcolm: That was the first time it's been played! I literally just played it! I was about to call you to tell you but you beat me to it!

Brad: Oh, well that makes sense then. Sorry! This is so amazing! 

Malcolm: Are you guys home? Turn the radio on, it will play again soon then you can both hear it!

Brad: We'll definitely do that!

Brad hung up the phone and we sat on the couch and tuned into the radio. After about 25 minutes of jamming out to some of close friends' songs that came on, Oh Love began to play!

Carrie: OH MY GOSH BRAD, HERE IT IS!

I shrieked. Brad had an ecstatic look on his face. We both sat and listened. It sounded perfect and before we knew it the song was over. 

Brad: That sounded SO AMAZING! 

Brad jumped into my arms.

Brad: WE DID IT!

We hugged each other for a minute straight. I didn't wanna let go.

Carrie: Let's go and celebrate sometime!

Brad: Dinner tomorrow at your favorite place downtown?

Carrie: A thousand times YES!

*The next day*

It was 6 in the evening and we headed downtown to my favorite Italian restaurant! Brad opened the car door for me and I got out. He grabbed my hand and we walked along the sidewalk. The sun was setting and the sky was a beautiful swirl of orange and red. We passed a magazine stand and something there had caught my attention. I backed up so I could see the stand's display.

Brad: Carrie, what are you doing?

He turned around and followed me. I picked up the magazine and my jaw fell to the ground. I heard Brad gasp behind me. I couldn't believe it.
