Carrie's POV

We were here. Suddenly I got nervous and took a deep breath as the driver opened the car door. I climbed out behind Brad. (Thinking to self) Breathe Carrie, breathe. This whole time you've been excited and now you're suddenly nervous. There's nothing to worry about, they're gonna love you. Brad's mom shot out of the house. She snatched the bags from mine and Brad's hands.

Mrs. Paisley: Don't you dare grab your bags, I will get them for you!

Brad's mom ran inside, without even making eye contact. I looked at Brad with a confused look.

Carrie: What?

I mouthed the word.

Brad whispered to me.

Brad: I dunno, haha.

She came running back out of the house, Brad's father walked out behind her. She jumped into Brad's arms and screeched with joy.

Mrs. Paisley: Brad!! My baby!! I missed you so much!!

She grabbed Brad's face and started kissing him multiple times. I just awkwardly stood there. Oh no, she's walking over to me. BREATHE, CARRIE.

Mrs. Paisley: And you must be Carrie! Oh my gosh!!

She gave me a giant hug.

Mrs. Paisley: You are absolutely beautiful! What exactly do you see in Brad?

Brad: MOM!!

Mrs. Paisley: Honey, I'm kidding!! Haha!

I could tell Brad was already annoyed.

Mrs. Paisley: You are so cute! Please please, come inside! It's getting chilly.

Brad grabbed my hand and we walked inside. Wow, their house was gorgeous!

Carrie: Oh my gosh, your house is gorgeous! Very home-y.

Mrs. Paisley: Thank you! We bought this house when Brad was born. We've lived here his whole life! Come on, I'll give you a tour!

Brad: Mom, I don't think that's a good idea.

Mrs. Paisley: Why not?

Carrie: It's fine, Brad. I mean I need to know where the bathroom is and stuff so why not?

I shrugged at him. And started following his mom.

Mrs. Paisley: Okay so this is the lobby, obviously! Walk through here and this is the kitchen, to the right here is the living room! If we go back out into the lobby.....

We walked back towards the front door and went upstairs.

Mrs. Paisley: ...the bathroom is here to the left, keep walking down the hall we have the spare bedroom on the left as well, our bedroom is right here on the right, and this room....

We walked up to the room at the end of the hallway and Brad's mom hesitated to open the door. She looked at me and turned the knob. My eyes were flooded with a shade of blue.

Mrs. Paisley: This was Brad's bedroom when he was a kid.

The walls were a deep ocean blue. There was a bed in the corner, very simple, with a black comforter. There was an old acoustic guitar sitting on a stand in another corner. There were pictures covering a large portion of the wall next to Brad's bed. You could definitely tell it was a teenage boy's room.

Carrie: Wow, look at this guitar.

I ran my fingers across the face.

Mrs. Paisley: That is one-
