I woke up to see her staring at the tank while typing on her computer with her headphones in. I got up and gently rubbed her shoulder. She quickly took her headphones off and shut her laptop.
"What are you working on beautiful?" I asked.
"Absolutely nothing." She replied and smiled up at me.
"Are you sure about that? You shut it awfully quick. You looking up something dirty huh?" I winked at her. She hit my side and laughed.
"Oh of course. No I'm putting something together." She replied.
She got up and hugged me. "Good morning handsome."
"Good morning baby girl." I replied. "How did you sleep?"
"Pretty well, what about you?" She asked.
"You had a bad dream. Do you remember?" She looked down and blushed.
"No... what happened?" She asked. I could tell she was embarrassed.
"I'm not sure. I felt you moving and it woke me up and you were curled up away from me and crying. I thought you woke up but I guess you were still asleep because I grabbed you and tried to ask you what's wrong and you just started shaking and holding onto me. I kept trying to comfort you but you finally calmed down. Do you remember what you were dreaming about?" I looked at her and she had her head down.
"No... I'm so sorry..." she said.
"Baby don't be sorry. It's okay. Next time that happens I'll wake you up and we'll talk about it okay?" I told her. I felt so bad.
"I'm still sorry. You shouldn't have to deal with that." She said.
"Baby, stop. It's okay. I'm here to help you and protect you. We will get past this." I reassured her.
She walked up to me and laced our hands and laid her head on me. I hugged her gently and told her to get on some clothes. I wanted to take her somewhere special.
Emily came down, more beautiful than I had ever seen. She had her long hair in an ever so slightly messy braid to the side, and these little pins that looked like flowers. She was wearing a dress, the top was long sleeve and, black, and it extended to a skirt that came down to her mid thighs. The skirt was decorated in a flower pattern, ones that matched her pin in her hair. On the side where I'm assuming the top connected to the skirt, there were two diamond shaped slits that shows just enough skin to be teasing, yet modest. She wore black flats, they were sheer on the side. She had a long, slim, gold chain that extended below her breasts with a beautiful aquamarine crystal attached. Yet the most beautiful thing about her at this moment, was the way she did her makeup. She had her normal, pale concealer on, and very light contouring. This time, instead of the normal dark makeup, she wore a very light sunset colored eyeshadow that complemented her eyes so well. Her eyeliner was a thin line that extended across her top eyelid and made a perfect wing. Her eyebrows were sharp, but minimum and natural. Her eyelashes were long and fluttering. She had some sort of makeup on that made her cheekbones glisten, and her lips -- they were painted with a dark red matte color that made them seductively beautiful.
I stood there for a moment, looking at every aspect twice. "Where are we going?" Emily asked.
She knew she looked good. She felt confident. I could feel it coming off of her. Confidence was a good look on her.
"It's a surprise." I told her and smirked. I opened her car door and gently smacked her butt as she got in. "Emily I have never seen you look so beautiful in my life."
She looked up at me and smiled. She knew how good she looked and she still blushed. "Thank you my love."
"So I think we should have a relaxed day today." I stated.
"And whys that?" She asked.
"We're gonna do a lot of things tomorrow. I say today, we go have a picnic, take some pictures together and have a nice time." I explained.
"What're we gonna do tomorrow?" She asked innocently.
"A lot of stuff baby. All I can say is that we're going to need a bag, comfy clothes, and a lot of energy." I laughed.
We got to the field; it was beautiful and bright. There was a nice summer breeze and the sun was shining brightly on the stream running through. It was a little off road, about ten minutes from the house. There were big, beautiful, trees everywhere that provided the perfect amount of shade. I walked with her, hand in hand, to a big tree by the stream and laid a blanket down. She sat on it and started giggling.
"What?" I asked.
She laughed some more.
I chuckled a little at her childness. "What?" I asked again.
"It's a nice picnic you've prepared for us today." She stated and laughed more.
Realizing what she was talking about, I sat down and laid my head in her lap. "Wow. I'm a failure." I chuckled
She leaned down and kissed me gently. "It's okay bear. It's beautiful out here. We can just lay down, look at the clouds, dip our feet in the water, kiss, just be with each other. It's so peaceful here. Quiet, calm, I love it."
I looked at her, listening to what she was saying. My heart raced, and my hands felt sweaty. My breathing got very heavy and fast. I lifted my head gently to look at her face; she was watching the stream, she had a light smile and she looked very peaceful. I grabbed one of her hands that were in my hair and looked at it intensely, playing with her rings.
"I love you, Em."
