We've learned to love each other.
To love someone
With their flaws, and their perfections.Yet when it comes to us,
We don't.A little hypocritical of you to
Tell everyone they should love themselves
When you can't
do the same for yourself. It's human nature to point out our flaws
But it is inhumane to speak so
Lowly to ourselves. Those years of our parents
Teaching us how to behave, how
To do this
And to do that.
But really they forgot
To teach us
How
To
Love
Ourselves.Why is it so hard?
Why are we any different
Against these flawed people
That walk among us?
Why do we hate ourselves so much
That we claim that we want
To pull our hair out,
Snip our skin off,
And shed a few pounds off?The amount of makeup
You drench onto your skin
As you avoid the mirror
Because you can't stand to look at your own face. You hate yourself so
Much
That you want to be someone
That isn't even you.Who are you anymore?
We are not
A mistake
So why do you claim you need such
A change?Why?
Why is loving ourselves the hardest thing? As if we are any different.
We notice what others can't.
Our hearts and souls belong to
Others apparently
because we choose to love them instead.
