With its vivid descriptions
And flaws above all
Flaws we will always love.
Poetry
With mountains of
Notions
Of indescribable words.
With an unmistakable rhythm,
Unmistakable emotion.
Poetry is not just
About
Love
And
Sadness.
Not about depressed teens
Or the chemicals we call love.
Poetry is not
Just written for the typical teen.
Not everyone falls in love
Or feels it.
And not everyone wants it
Or even needs it.
They say no one loves them
When they ignore the smiling family
And friends they've always knew.
Not everyone
Is shrunk down to the stereotype
Of heartbreak.
Or depression.
To some, it is the loneliness we
May feel sometimes.
Or perhaps the fear that eclipses our
Dreams because we are
Afraid of failure.
Afraid we cannot live it all.
Poetry can
Make mountains move
And people tremor
And monsters bask in their disgrace.
Poetry can make one sob
While others grin.
To you it is
Found with a surplus of descriptions and imagery
Of pointless things
Like beauty or boys.
To me
Poetry can make
Us human.
