Toxic smiles
that spew poisonous things,
Offer them like candied apples the evil queen
Gave to snow white.Words that bend but never break.
Words we may never forget.Lies sugar-coated can
Be harmful.
Like poison that
Churns in a big cauldron
Meant to burn.Yet there is a line
Between insensitivity
and truthfulness.
Like the medicine that sometimes bitters our tongues
And the poison that tastes sweet. However we may never truly be able
To tell the difference
Between what hurts
And what works. As if no one will tell us
What we need to hear most
Rather than what we want.
