The Morning Before the First Task

The next few weeks after Dumbledore announced the day of the first task were busy with Homework and roomers. People still thought that me and Victor were dating and now a new rumor about Harry has posed up. People think he is mental and the Daily Prophet Slytherins aren't helping by fueling and spreading the rumors. Right now I () was in my open period reading a book outside by the black lake freezing my but off. Then I was joined by someone, that someone being Cedric Digory.

"Hello Devona." He greeted.

"Hi Cedric." I responded not looking up from my book.

"May I join you?" He asked.

"Sure." I said finally putting my book down.

"So..." he said not knowing what to talk about.

"Are you ready for the first task?" I questioned him.

"Yeah, actually I just ran into Harry and he told me the first task is Dragons. I have no clue how he knows but I'm grateful he told me." Said Cedric seeming relieved at the thought of knowing what he needs to prepare for.

"Yeah, Harry likes t make things fare." I replied, for I had gone with Harry 3 night ago following Hagrid to see the dragons.

"Yes he is a very good person." Agreed Cedric. I nodded agreement. Then I noticed someone coming our way from the Forbidden Forest.

"What's wrong?" Asked Cedric following my gaze. Then he saw the figure. It came nearer and nearer. And the closer the more tense I felt, Cedric pulled his wand ready to protect him and myself. The figure came close enough to tell it was a person. Cedric stood up and stood infant of m blocking my view of the person. Then I saw a glimpse of red hair and realized it was Charlie Weasley.

"Cedric it's alright it's just a Charlie Weasley." I said. Cedric put his wand away and sat back down.

"Hi Charlie what are you doing here?" I asked.

"I'm working for the First task." He replied.

"Oh cool." I said.

"Who is this?" He asked referring to Cedric.

"It's Cedric Digory, him and his father were with us when we took the port key to the World Cup." I said introducing Cedric to Charlie. Cedric got up and shook Charlie's hand.

"So Devona, are you two dating?" Asked Charlie.

"Nope." I said popping the "p". Cedric seemed to become a little sad at the sound that. I don't know why it's not like we're dating.

"Yeah. He agreed sadly.

"Well how have my brothers been behaving I need to give a report to my mother." He asked.

"They seem to be fine except Ron keeps fan grilling when he hears things about Victor Krum. It's really funny. Oh and George and Fred have not pulled any major pranks." I informed him. He nodded taking in all this information. The three of us ended up talking for the rest of the period although at some points both Cedric and Charlie seemed noted with the other one.Anyways instead of have=ing our next class we had to go to the First task.
