ALOT OF PEOPLE THINK THIS COULD MEAN VIKTOR HAS CANCER! I BELIEVE IT BUT AT THE SAME TIME I DONT!
This is what I hope it is: Viktor went to yuri to help him win and he could be saying that if he hadn't done that yurio wouldn't be so hard working as he is because I'm pretty ARE it was mentioned that it did, in fact, help yurio. At the same time of that Viktor could be feeling competitive as I couch to his former coach.
Why others think he could have cancer: Because he said "wouldn't be this motivated to fight, and neither would I" and most of the time, if not al of the time, you have to fight cancer and if he hadn't met yuri he would've given up. This is the scene when he is looking at his ring and it could be that he is thinking of how far he and his relationship with yuri had come and how yuri has motivated him to fight even hard. Another reason is because viktor had long hair, and I know this from many dumb decisions, that you grow attached to your hair and this could be a case that his hair is thinning and falling out.
But his hair change could be because he wanted to, like my many cases of cutting my long hair.
