Finn was walking back and forth nervously. "Shoot what do I say.. what do I say.." He was practicing how to ask Millie out for a "friendly dinner". "Dude calm down. Tell me what you would tell her," Daniel said. "Okay, umm, Millie, I was thinking, do you wanna have dinner later? It isn't really a date but.." he was interrupted. "Cut, cut! What the hell, don't say that," Daniel said. Finn sighed. "Fine, what do I say?"
"Hey, so I was wondering, maybe we can have dessert? Nothing fancy, I guess just anywhere near," Daniel said. "Okay perfect," Finn said, taking a deep breath. "Hey, so I was wondering, maybe we can have dinner? Nothing fancy, I guess just anywhere near," Daniel smiled. "You did great. Now come one, do it!" He said, pushing him outside the door.
Taking another deep breath, Finn knocked on their door, and Daniel hid in their room. Linda answered. "Hey Finn. Anything I can do for you?" She asked. Finn was really nervous and had his thoughts on actually asking Millie. "Hi um.. is Millie around?" Finn asked, playing with his fingers absentmindedly. "Yeah she is. Let me just get her," Linda said, turning around.
Finn let out a big exhale, but her comes the true test of bravery. "Hi Finn," Millie spoke, snapping him out of his thoughts. "Hello Millie. I know it's kind of late but I was wondering, can we have dessert?" he paused, "just us?" Finn gulped; he was scared of rejection. "Sure. Let me just get my things. I'll be ready in five."
As she closed the door, Finn let out the biggest sigh of relief. He went inside is room and whisper yelled "YES!" Daniel clapped. "I can't believe I just witnessed, Finn Wolfhard's first ever time to ask a girl out." But Finn was busy frantically looking for his wallet. "Damn if I don't have my wallet how am I gonna pay." Daniel chuckled, handing him the wallet that was inside the drawer this whole time. "Just chill man. You'll do fine,"

Finn and Millie crossed the street to the dessert place they were going to. It was quite full with some people and a few of them asked to take pictures so it was a while before they could order anything. Finn knew that a lot of the people here would assume that they were together, and tomorrow, or in a few minutes, there would already be pictures of them posted on the net.
Though both of them knew this, Finn tried to not let this ruin their "friendly date", as they called it. "Hello, can I order a cookie dough ice cream, medium," Millie told the cashier, and Finn ordered the same. They also ordered two vanilla milkshakes.
They sat down and cherished the delicious ice cream flavor. It tasted exactly like a cookie dough, and the vanilla milkshake was like the cherry on top of an ice cream sundae. "This is reeaally good," Millie said, as she took her first bite. "Agreed,"
After a moment of silence, they started to talk about Long Distance. "This movie is actually really fun to shoot," Finn said. "Yeah it really is. I was a very big fan of the book, and the author. When I found out they were having a movie, I screamed. When my manager told me that I was starring in it, well I guess you could imagine it," Finn laughed.
"I haven't properly read the book yet. But I did like Vanessa Brown's other books," Finn said. "True. I really love Vanessa Brown's book, have you read The Ringtone Series??" Millie asked. "Yes! I just finished the last book two months ago."
As they talked more and more, Millie started to realize that she did see Finn as more than a friend. She always denied it, but if she was completely honest with herself, she knew that her feelings were not to be denied anymore.
"So Millie, I've been wanting to tell you something," Finn said, and at this, Millie snapped out of her thoughts. She was suddenly filled with curiosity. Was Finn finally gonna come clean? "I," Finn started, but he wasn't able to finish, because just then, Noah came up to them. "Oh hey guys. I just saw you earlier," Finn groaned in his mind. "Oh hi Noah. Come join us," Millie said, and just like that, their moment was ruined.
Noah took his donut and his drink and sat with them. Finn was just about to confess something he's been hiding for a long time. He was about to tell her about what he really felt. But because of Noah, he never had the chance to. He's been waiting, practicing for this moment. But now, everything was ruined.
It wasn't just them anymore. It was no longer a "friendly date", but a hang out. So they talked like they usually did. They talked about what happened two months ago after they parted.
They stayed for quite a while, until it was late and they had to leave. "Be right back guys. I just need to go to the restroom," Millie said, as she turned to leave. Finn immediately turned to Noah. "I have a question," Finn started. "Yeah?" Finn had been wanting to ask this question for a really long time, and he had a feeling he already knew the answer. "Do you like Millie?" Finn asked, but Noah merely smiled. "What would you do if I answered yes?" Finn's expression was blank. He didn't know what he would do. "And yes, I do. Do you?"
