~Empty Words~

Nathalia's P.O.V.

"Is it me or the both of you are really just too quiet for my liking? I remember you and Nathalie are pretty close when we're in high school, why are the both of you looking very distant and awkward now?" Xavier asked once we both finished our gown and tux fitting, the three of us are now wearing our original clothes.

Mom and dad already went home due to drowsiness, I understand them though, they need more adecquate sleep than us. Flint, I and Xavier went to a restaurant to eat lunch, Flint sat infront of me as Xavier was beside me.

"We're not awkward, actually I'm happy to meet her as your fiance" Flint answeree, I don't know what to say, I don't know what to do. I just keep on staring in to space or to Flint, who I'm clearly sure is avoiding me.

"Who wouldn't be happy to know that a goddess like Nathalie would be your bride?" Xavier's hand slipped through mine and gave the back of my hand a gentle kiss, I wanted to talk to Flint but whenever there's a chance, either Xavier will interrupt us or Flint would ignore me.

"I'd like to thank you for coming and supporting me while we're fitting our gown and tux for the wedding, it must've made a conflict with your schedule"

"No, I actually I filed a whole week leave just to support you as a friend. After all, I'm still your best friend right?" Flint uttered, sick leave for the whole week? Have he lost his mind? His company will be bankrupt and will have a chaos if he'll not attend to their problems.

"A very trustable best friend Flint"

"Excuse me for a while, I'd like to use the comfort room" My heart keeps on pouding hastily as Xavier excused himself from us, this could be the time for us to talk. I waited for Xavier to walk away before I turned to Flint.

"Flint can we talk?" Just when I said those words he immediately stood up and gave me a bow, this isn't the Flint I know. It seems as if my heart is being torned apart by the ways he's acting infront of me.

"I have to go somewhere very important, I'm sorry but I have to go. Just send my regards to Xavier" He gave me another bow and then proceeded to walk away from me.

"Flint-" I stood up and held his hand to stop him before he could walk away from me, I want to speak with him today to clarify everything. I couldn't sleep at night anymore because I'm starting to feel guilty not telling him that I was to be wed with his best friend.

"We have nothing to talk about Nathalie, you don't have to explain anything to me because I'm nothing compared to Xavier" I wasn't able to speak nor move anymore as Flint said those words, he was mad and I know it's because of me. I stood still there, while watching Flint's back view slowly walking away from me. A ray of hope and happiness had also left me.

"Where's Flint?" Xavier suddenly appeared before me, he looked behind me to see empty seats and his missing best friend.

"He said he had to go somewhere every important" I uttered.

"Let's continue our lunch then, we wouldn't want to keep the food waiting don't we?"
