Erica's POV

It's Lay's birthday today!

But I think he forgot because he forgets everything...

"Erica! I'm gonna go visit my grandparents today."

"Okay! See you later!"

"Bye Erica!" I hugged him and he left.

According to the rest of the EXO Members, Lay has always wanted a surprise birthday party so I was going to throw one for him today when he comes back!

"Hello? Aly?"

"Mmm? What's wrong Erica?"

"Today is Lay's birthday and I was thinking of throwing him a surprise birthday party!"

"Oh! Good idea!"

"Yeah! You're with the rest of EXO and LAVEV right?"

"Mmm."

"Tell them okay?"

"Okay!"

Lay's POV

I drove to my grandparent's house because today is my grandfather's birthday.

I haven't seen him for a while because of things at school and Skull. But I can finally see him today.

My grandparents are the only relatives I have left. I have my aunt too but she's in Singapore.

"Aigoo! Our grandson is here to see us!!"(Grandmother)

"Anneonghaseyo Grandmother and Grandfather."

"Anneong Lay."(Both)

"Saeng-il chugahumnida Grandfather."

"Gomawo Lay."

I handed Grandfather his present. It was a sweater because Korea is cold and he was sick too.

"How is Erica?"

"She's good."

"When are you going to propose to her?"

"I don't think she's re--"

"She has always been ready. Its just you weren't."

"I--"

"Happy birthday Lay!"

"Huh? Oh right! I totally forgot that I was born on the same day as you but just different year, Grandfather!"

"Yeah. Maybe you should go and spend some time with Erica huh? And propose to her. She'll say yes."

"You really think so, Grandfather?"

"I know so Grandson. Now hurry up and go!"

"Okay! Bye Grandmother and Grandfather!"

I quickly ran to my car and started driving straight away. I was so happy. I went to buy a ring first.

I just chose a normal ring with a diamond on it. Around it says 'I love you Erica' and it JUST fits. I asked them to engrave it in.

Erica's POV

Everything is set. Everything is ready. It has been an hour Lay should be coming home soon.

But why do I keep having this bad feeling that something happened to Lay?

I then walked past out bookshelf that had a couple pictures of Lay and I. A photo with Lay on it accidentally fell. I definitely know that there's something wrong with Lay now. Something bad has happened.

I told the rest to wait for me and that I'll be back. When I opened the front door to get out, Lay's Grandparents were there.

"What's wrong, Grandmother?"

"Lay..."

"What happened to Lay?!"

"He... He got into an accident... You should go and see him..."

"Okay."

I quickly looked for a taxi to go to the hospital with Grandmother and she said he's still in the operation room.

The doctor said that the car he crashed into crushed his car, leaving him little space to move and little chance to live.

An hour passed and the doctor came back out again.

"Doctor, is Lay okay?"

"I'm really sorry."

"What..." No no no no no NO!!!!

"We tried the best we could and we couldn't help. I'm really sorry to tell you that you've just lost him."

NO!!

I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!

Grandmother called EXO and LAVEV who were at home to come to the hospital with the birthday cake.

I just followed the doctor because he was taking me to the room Lay's body was in.

He was laying on the bed still with his eyes closed.

"Oh. Are you Erica?"

"Y-yes..."

"This was in his hand. It took a while for us to take it out of his grip."

The doctor handed me a diamond ring that said 'I love you Erica' around it.

He was just about to propose to me... But he went before he could...

The doctor pat me on the back and then left. Aly came in and gave me the birthday cake. She said that Grandmother told her to. 

Aly left after giving me the cake. I put the ring on my finger and held the cake.

"H-happy birthday Lay... I love you... Oh and Grandmother said you were gonna propose to me. -sniffs- Haha. Well either way, the answer will be a yes from me, Lay. I would love to marry you... Because I love you a lot..."

I put the cake down on the table next to the bed and ran out.

ONE YEAR LATER

It has been a year since Lay has left me... A whole year...

It's his birthday today. And also the day he left me...

This year I made a birthday cake for him. I celebrated it with him of course. At the temple... Since he's not with me anymore.

Sometimes I think I did something wrong to deserve this.

But I will always be married to Lay and I won't find anyone else. I looked at the ring he gave my and smiled.

All I want him to know, is I love him a lot. And I will never, stop loving him.

SUCH A SAD ENDING DOE! I'M LITERALLY CRYING. (Kinda)

But yeah...
