i think i found love
i found it in a person
even the gods above
did envy our little heaven

i think i found an angel
i found him in a demon
they told me to be careful
run before i'd get beaten

i think i found god
i found him under his skin
i begged him not to stop
as he said i was his favorite sin

i think i found a future
i found it in a criminal
he confused pleasure for torture
but he was another kind of miracle

i think i found myself
i found it in a lover
into his eyes i fell
he touched my brain like no other

i think i finally found him
i found him sitting in my lungs
inside he ignited a fire so dim
with his taste still left on my tongue
