Kat was double checking everything hours later when Lexi and Jo and basically the whole school was still sleeping. I would have doubled checked my things too, if Kat hadn't already. So instead I put on my comfortable boots that was fuzzy on the inside and stuck my hands in my pockets of the hoodie I would be wearing on the plane ride to Rome (it was my Blackthorne hoodie just to let you know). I slipped out of the room and made my way to the Hall of History. Why? I didn't know. I just knew I should go there.

Before I got to my grandma's office, I could see the door was already open and someone was inside from the light shining onto the wall across the way. I pushed open the door to see Mom all snuggled up on the sofa holding what looked to be cocoa or coffee, maybe even tea, and Grandma sitting behind her desk with a stack of papers, half asleep.

"See mom? I told you she would come by." My mom said with a smile and wink my direction.

"Oh whatever, Cammie. We could have talked to her about this later before we set them off to the airport if she didn't show." My grandma spoke, waving off what mom said and raining on her parade.

"Talk to me about what?" I asked, taking a seat opposite of mom.

"You didn't turn in a course selection sheet." Mom handed me a sheet of paper with my name at the top of it and two boxes underneath, one labeled Covert Operations Track and the other labeled Research and Development Track.

"Oh... Right..." I started chewing on my bottom lip as I stared at the sheet and grandma and mom were talking about the importance of it. "Would you guys be mad if I didn't choose CoveOps?"

Mom and Grandma exchanged looks before smiling sweetly and shaking their heads before mom spoke up. "Your dad and Grandpa Joe would both be able to sleep even just a little bit better at night if you did. Heck, we would be able to sleep better at night if you did."

"Really?"

"My god, Z. Of course. But we know you love the field so don't choose something you won't want to do on our behalves." Grandma said, getting up from behind the desk and walking over to us with a pen. She sat down on the coffee table and held it out for me. "The decision is all yours, Zaggie. And we will always support your decisions till the day we die."

And with that I took the pen from my grandmother and uncapped it. I looked down at the paper before putting a nice, neat X in one of the boxes and handing it to my mom. She thanked me and I got up to leave before being stopped.

"Hey, Z?" I turned around to see what last words my mom wanted to tell me before I had to meet with Kat in the foyer to leave for our flight. "Be prepared for next semester. I have you scheduled for something... Eventful."
