Your love is perfection,
Please point me in the right direction
I'm a give you all my affection
Every touch becomes infectious
Let's make out in this Lexus
There's no other love just like this
A life with you I wonder can we become love's persona

You'll always be the one that I wanna come home to
Girl let me love you and show you how special you are
I wanna be your baby, you'll always be my baby
Tell me what you want

Sing it to the world
Baby give me some
You gon' be my girl
I wanna make you mine
And it ain't nobody's business
It ain't nobody's business
It ain't nobody's business
It ain't nobody's business
Just mine, and my baby

Tonaya frowned at the texts as she sat in the back seat of a cab with Mariah, on their way from the airport, to their dad's house.

She wanted to respond by calling, but she was too proud for that.

Tonaya locked her phone and put it in her white YSL purse. She crossed her arms and looked out her window to ignore the looks of curiosity that Mariah was giving her. This, Tonaya thought, was exactly why nobody needed to know that she and Chris were trying again. It hadn't even been a full month of them reworking things and already, Nia was starting to get on her nerves.

They soon pulled up at a white house, made from wood. Grass on the front yard with a black SUV parked right in front of the garage on the right. Mariah was the first to get out of the cab to get her things out of the trunk. Tonaya took her time, not really wanting to be there.

Soon, their father, George, and his wife, Linda, stepped out to greet their guests. While Mariah practically ran into their father's arms, Tonaya hesitated to. Seeing her father with his wife made her wonder about a lot of things. It also made her realise just how good she was at holding a grudge.

"Come inside, angels," Linda smiled at the girls.

"Is everything set for this evening?" Mariah walked with Linda, "Do you need help with anything?"

"Oh, no, angel. Everything is sorted. We'll leave for the venue a little later."

George took Tonaya's suitcase from her and offered her a warm smile as they walked up the path. He knew how hard it was for his little girl to get used to, and accept, the fact that he'd moved on from their mother, and he also knew just how much his decision to had affected Tonaya's love life.

Tonaya never wanted to be with a whole bunch of guys. She'd always been naïve when it came to relationships, and maybe that was why she kept going back to Chris. She believed in having one partner-- a soulmate-- and she believed that Chris was that one person, no matter how many times they fought or disagreed. When she imagined her future, she saw herself get married once and once only, and that was exactly her plan.
