Can we pretend
That everything is like yesterday
What if I just wanna feel you touching me?
Ain't nobody perfect
So if you take a while to make it worth it
I wanna pretend
Let's pretend that we 'bout to break up
To catch the feelings that I when we make up
Legs up, suicide, north side
We never count points when we courtside

Let's pretend I ain't your friend
So we can get it on again
Let's pretend we never met
A good excuse to play forget
Let's pretend you never lied
So I can give it up all night
Swallow my pride, and learn to forgive
When I'm looking for love I pretend it's you

Since last seeing Mariah about a week and a half ago, Tonaya felt nervous about travelling with her to the engagement party. They'd both been invited so leaving together only made sense.

A lot had happened since the sisters last saw each other and Tonaya wanted to share that with Mariah. She would.

After Tonaya put on her white blazer (for the white themed party), Mariah knocked on her door, already dressed in a short white dress and heels, ready to head off already.

Tonaya walked down the stairs with Sir Charles right at her heels and excited to see who was at the door.

Tonaya managed a smile when she saw her sister. Mariah was impressed by Tonaya's look: fitted white suit pants-- cropped to graze her ankles and properly show off the transparent heels that made her feel like Cinderella-- and the blazer which she wore with nothing underneath. Tonaya had gotten back in touch with her her tomboy side.

"You ready?" Mariah stepped into the apartment and bent down to pick Charles up.

"Almost," Tonaya hurried off to the kitchen to fill her baby's bowls with food and water, just in case.

Mariah had a lot of questions to ask about her last visit to Tonaya's. While Tonaya bent over to put her hair up in a ponytail, Mariah set Charles down and offered to help.

Tonaya sat on a stool at the breakfast bar while Mariah quietly sorted her hair out.

"Thanks," Tonaya smoothed her hair over with her hand when Mariah finished. "I need to go get my purse--"

"I want to talk about last time," Mariah sighed, closing her eyes briefly.

Tonaya bit her lip, nerves taking over.

"I want to apologise for... being insensitive about what happened-- yelling and all of that. I should've been more supportive. And... what Edison attempted to do? It wasn't your fault," Mariah said.

"Thanks," Tonaya felt relieved. "I know it was crazy, the stunt I pulled, so I'm sorry for freaking you out. Thanks for fighting for me."

Mariah smiled, "what are sisters for?"

Tonaya managed a smile too.

Silence.

"Good news," Tonaya clasps her hands together, "Willow and I are officially solo artists!"
