Don't fall asleep
At the wheel we've got a million miles ahead of us
Miles ahead of us
All that we need
Is a ride awakening to know we're good enough
Know we're good enough
Say go through the darkest of days
Heaven's a heartbreak away
Never let you go, never let me down
Oh it's been a hell of a ride
Driving the edge of a knife
Never let you go, never let me down
Don't you give up
Na na na
I won't give up
Na na na
Let me love you
Let me love you
Don't you give up
Na na na
I won't give up
Na na na
Let me love you
Let me love you

"He's bad news! I've tried to get Tonaya to see that he's nothing but trouble!" Madison's frustrated voice was the first thing Tonaya heard when she came to.

"It's not his fault, mom," Mariah defended, "Chris was right at Tonaya's side. He cried for her when he saw her on the ground."

"Maybe they were guilt tears," Madison huffed. "I don't ever want to see that boy."

"Don't work yourself up about this, Maddy. Toni's gonna be alright," George spoke calmly.

"Toni could've died, George! Whoever did this needs to get arrested!"

"The police are on it."

"Well, they better hurry up because my daughter is not safe."

Mariah sighed at how her parents were going back and forth. She turned and looked at her sister and found that Tonaya had been listening.

"Thank God!" Mariah's hand went straight to her chest.

When her parents realised what Mariah was happy about, George went to get some water for Tonaya while Madison raced to her side.

"Oh sweetie," Madison stroked Tonaya's hair.

"Hi, mom," Tonaya smiled weakly.

Madison was close to tears. The minute she got the call from Mariah about what had happened, she dropped everything to be with her baby girl.

Tonaya had been in the hospital for three days, though this was the first visit she remembered having from anyone because she'd been sedated. She hadn't expected to wake up to her whole family being there. How bad was she hurt?

"Here you go, baby," George handed the glass of water to Tonaya.

It was only when she tried to sit up that she realised her arm was in a sling. Not only did it hurt a little to move, but the sling was hideous to Tonaya.

She frowned and quietly thanked her dad for the water. She couldn't quite recall what happened the night of Willow's engagement party-- how she landed up in hospital. Everything happened so fast.

"How are you feeling, sis?" Mariah rubbed her arm nervously.

Tonaya set her glass of water on her lap after a few sips. She didn't know how or what to feel. She was overwhelmed for starters.

"I just wanna know what happened," she looked at her family, lastly at Mariah because she had been there so Tonaya hoped for answers.

Mariah shrugged and frowned, "one minute you're outside for air and with Chris and the next... you're on the ground bleeding."

"Bleeding?"

"She doesn't remember," Madison frowned deeply.

"You were shot, Tonaya," Mariah clarified. "Drive-by."
