I groaned as I slowly peeled my eyelids open, attempting to sit up slowly.
"Oh, Callie!" Hermione yelled, jumping onto my bed and tackling me into a tight hug.
I ignored the pain in my chest and shoulder and hugged her back just as tightly, Harry coming over and wrapping his arms around the both of us.
"We thought we were going to lose you. Your wounds are really bad; Madame Pomfrey didn't even know if she'd be able to save you." I heard Ron say from his bed, his voice cracking slightly, before he cleared his throat.
"Hey! You guys should know you can't get rid of me that easily." I grinned at them, happy to have them, before the smile slid off my face. "Um, has Madame Pomfrey said anything about, you know, the little werewolf speed bump?" I asked quietly, not meeting their eyes.
Hermione grasped my hand. "We don't know. Not until the next full moon. It could have gone either way."
Harry stood up angrily. "Why did you jump in front of me?" He demanded. "How could you do that? You could have died! You could be a werewolf! All to stop me from getting hurt!"
I expected this reaction from Harry as I slowly stood up from my bed, my ripped jeans, converse and quidditch shirt still on, the only difference was the white wraps with blotches of red wrapped around my chest and shoulder peaking out of the shreds of fabric. "Don't act like you wouldn't do the same for me."
He stilled instantly, hearing the calmness in my voice. "Well, that's not the point."
"It is." I walked toward him and wrapped my arms around his neck, he responded immediately, wrapping his around my waist. "I'm fine, you're fine."
I pulled away and walked to Ron's bed, flopping down beside him, laying my head on his shoulder. "How are you feeling?"
"Better than you. Blimey. You were Professor Lupin's chew toy and you're asking me if I'm okay." He said, exasperated. He grabbed my hand and kissed the top of my head.
"I'll have some pretty hardcore scars though." I laughed.
Harry and Hermione smiled at me before coming over and sitting by Ron and I, as Professor Dumbledore opened the door to the hospital wing.
"Professor! It wasn't Sirius! He's innocent!" Hermione explained as he walked towards us.
"It was Scabbers who did it." Ron said beside me. "He's my rat. But he's not a rat. Well, he was my brother Percy's rat-"
I clamped my hand over Ron's mouth. "What do we do, Professor? We have to save him."
"A funny thing, time." He said airily, heading towards the door. "Powerful, and when meddled with, dangerous. Sirius Black is in the top cell of the Dark Tower." He turned around, staring intently at Hermione. "You know the rules Ms. Granger. You must not be seen and must return before this time or the consequences will be severe. If you succeed tonight, more than one innocent life will be spared. Three turns should do it."
