"I'm sorry about your leg by the way." Sirius apologized as Ron gaped at him.
"Sorry?" He demanded. "You almost took my leg off!"
"I know, I was aiming for the rat. I usually have a sweet disposition as a dog. James used to tell me to make the change permanent. The tail I could live with; but the fleas, they're murder." Sirius said.
I giggled. "Luckily, I have no experience with fleas."
"You weren't in Azkaban." He pointed out.
"Doesn't mean I wasn't in a prison." I shot back.
"Touché."
As we reached the roots of the willow, I quickly pressed in the roots, freezing the tree. We sat Ron down on the grass with Hermione and enjoyed the beautiful evening for a moment.
"I can't believe I had been talking to you all this time as a dog, and you're really... you." I said as Sirius, Harry and I wandered off a little bit.
"I cant believe I had been talking to you all this time and you've been Voldemort's daughter." He said.
"What can I say? It's not exactly an ice breaker." I laughed.
Sirius turned to Harry. "You know, when I get my name cleared, I would like it you came and lived with me."
"You mean, leave the Dursley's?" He asked, stunned.
I slowly turned to leave, feeling as if I had been intruding on a moment between the newly introduced Godfather and Godson.
"Well, yeah, I mean, if you want- you don't have to! I just mean-" Sirius stumbled.
"I'd love to!" Harry grinned, embracing his Godfather.
"Calliope!" Sirius called as they pulled apart. "Get back here!"
I turned around, one eyebrow raised.
"Would you also like to come live with us? You're just as much family to me as Harry, here. You showed me kindness when I needed it. You saved my life."
I let out a squeal, causing them both to flinch, running and jumping into Sirius' arms. "Yes! Yes! A thousand times, yes!" I pulled back and kissed his dirty cheek. "Thank you so much! You have no idea how much this means to me!"
He grinned at Harry and I and was about to respond when we heard a strangled sound coming from Remus, causing the three of us to abandon our happy moment and turn to him.
I noticed the full moon rising over a cloud as Remus screamed.
"Shit, shit, shit, shit." I said, running to the suffering man.
"Remember the man you truly are, Remus!" Sirius said, squeezing the man as his features started changing.
Just then, Pettigrew took the wand and took the spell off of himself that kept him from transforming.
I didn't have time to reach for my wand, so I just held out my hand at him. "Expelliarmus!" I yelled, his wand flying into my hand.
He grinned at us before slowly turning into a rat and scurrying off. Harry and I both went to run after him when Severus and Hermione pulled us back.
"No!" I yelled as Remus fully transformed throwing Sirius off of him roughly.
"Professor?" Hermione called softly to the whimpering werewolf. "Professor Lupin?"
He suddenly lunged forward, howling and snarling. As he swiped at Hermione, I quickly transformed into my form as a lioness, knowing I'd need strength and speed on my side, roaring in the werewolf's face.
Just as I was about to lunge, Sirius jumped out of the darkness at Remus, in his dog form before running off, causing Remus to chase after him.
I immediately took off after them to help Sirius. Hissing, I jumped onto Remus' back, knocking him to the ground and attempting to pin him.
"Come on Remus, this isn't who you are!" I yelled in my head at him, but there wasn't even a flicker of recognition, only eyes that were wild with blood lust.
He suddenly flipped me and swiped me across my chest, causing me to whimper softly.
Sirius jumped at him again as Harry threw a rock at Remus, hitting him in the head, causing him to head towards him. I ran and jumped in front of Harry, just as he sunk his teeth into my shoulder, causing me to release a loud roar of pain.
"AOOUUUUUUUU!" I heard in the distance, causing Remus' ears to perk up and he let go of me, causing me to fall to the ground.
"AOOUUUUUUUU!" Remus whimpered before taking off in that direction.
I glanced at Harry, turning to see Sirius turn back into his human form before toppling out of sight.
"Sirius." I heard Harry breathe before we both followed the bloody tracks to the black lake where Sirius was lying, motionless.
I transformed back to myself; a girl with dark hair and slashed clothes. Glancing down I saw my Irish quidditch shirt slashed completely, revealing my red bra and ripped chest.
"Wonderful." I muttered. "I loved this shirt."
I dropped to my knees beside Harry, leaning over Sirius. "Come on, Sirius. Wake up." I begged.
"Callie. You're hurt." Harry said, glancing at me quickly. "He bit you. He was trying to get to me."
"Hey, It's fine. There's a chance I'm going to be fine." I tried to reassure him, although my stomach had dropped into my dirty converse, knowing by the next full moon, I could be a werewolf.
Suddenly, Sirius jerked and his eyes flew open as he screamed, looking above our heads.
"Well, look who came to the party." I said, pulling my wand out of my pocket and pointing it at the hundred dementors that swarmed us, Harry joining me.
"Expecto patronum!" We screamed in unison.
I was so weak, my thestral wouldn't appear, though luckily, I still managed to produce a shield of silvery light, the same as Harry.
Gradually, I could feel both of our patronus' weakening before they stopped completely and we dropped to the ground, feeling the dementor's swarm us.
Glancing up, before we passed out, I grabbed Harry's hand and looked at the thestral and stag patronus' walking towards the both of us, saving our lives.
