The film was originally going to be called "Revenge of the Jedi" but George Lucas didn't think it fit with the Jedi themselves. Hence the name "Return of the Jedi".
Originally, Yoda wasn't in the film script. George thought it would be best to put him in, because he was the perfect character to tell Luke Darth Vader was his father.
While clambering over Jabba the Hutt, Carrie Fisher's High heel broke into the puppet and stabbed the person inside, who was operating the tail.
Jabba's Sail Barge scene was filmed in Yuma, Arizona.
The growls and sounds from the Rancor in Jabba's Palace were actually made by a dog.
