Apocalypse now

I'm not a bad guy, I mean, I don't think I am, but still, I can't help but think this as I plummet from a very tall building, like now. Now you see, there is a perfectly logical reason to why I jumped to my alleged"death". This explanation is a story in its own but only have one word to explain it all, zombies. Not dead zombies, but more like crazed people under mind control, illegals, like myself and my team could only be turned into these so called zombies through direct contact. So to make things easier, the people aren't zombies, just under mind control, I'll call them...Zack. No better term to use right now.

So the day started as any regular day, Ruby and I were becoming accustomed to each other and the whole team was going to marksmanship training in the prison yard. We were scoring targets at an abnormal pace until the bells sounded and we went to Katherine for a mission briefing. We all entered the room to see Katherine looking through a tablet and transferring the facts onto a screen. "What are we dealing with Kat? Is it bad?"
"From what I'm seeing it's almost complete anarchy in the streets, people are acting like zombies, from what we can tell it's an illegal originated virus, meaning, they're not dead, but if we can kill the illegal who started this, things will get back to normal."
"What do you suppose we do about this?" Magnus said in a kind of snarky tone. "What I suggest is that we go after said illegal, kill him and save everyone, it's that simple."
" then let's suit up, Ruby, Magnus, Morgan, Issac. You're with me, grab a weapon and let's go!" I suited up in my black lab coat and put on the goggles and pulled on the hood. I had my usual single strap with me until we were stopped at the gates. Katherine had a black cloak on with a sword at her belt. Magnus had his traditional suit, Issac and Morgan had on their BDU's with assault rifles in hand. And finally Ruby stepped out with her usual skirt and leather jacket. "Ok guys, remember, try to avoid the infected, Katherine, have you located a point of origin?"
"Waylon's manufacturing plant, a little more than a couple miles from here."
"Then let's get going!"

We stepped out of the gates and saw that the world had gone to shit. Fires were everywhere and a couple of known illegals were fighting off hordes of zack, maybe I should stop calling them illegals, I'll call them, epics. We started walking down the street until we got jumped by a couple hundred zack, we were chased into an ally. I made a wall and blocked them off while my group climbed up the building to get to a safer place at the roof top. "Chase we have to go, I'll hold them off" Issac said as he took a knee and raised his rifle, "Morgan and I can take them and we'll make it up as soon as possible." Morgan raised his rifle and I started scaling the building. I heard the loud sound of gunshots, wild and uncontrolled, I looked down and saw that the large horde was ripping the two boys apart. I got back to the group "were down to four now, we have to keep going" I pulled my tablet from my back and showed the hollow map. "Were only a couple blocks away, let's just travel by roof and then we can get there in one piece." I made construct walkways from building to building until we were at the closets rooftop to Waylon's manufacturing plant. Magnus put down his duffel bag and pulled out a sniper. "Ok, Kat stays with me, I'll cover you two and try to draw the hordes away from you two." I nodded and Ruby and I jumped from the roof top at the sound of the sniper shot and booked it towards the large skyscraper. We scaled the building from the outside and got to the very top.

From there we were met by a familiar face, Max and a new face, the new guy was young, 28, four years older than me. "I'm Neil walker, they call me wall walk, I think you're here to kill me" he smirked" I have your friend under my control, I can look through walls and control minds." He smirked and stood up, damn than guy was big, almost seven ft tall, but I digress. "If you want to fight so bad, then so be it." I radioed in to Magnus and asked if he could send Kat over here as well for extra back up and that if things got too bad to shoot this guy, but for right now, I'll play his game. Max flew up and attacked Ruby as I ran towards wall walk and threw the first punch, it went right through the guy. Like a ghost, poof, nothing. "Oh did I forget to mention, I'm intangible." He started howling with laughter. I looked at him. Dead eyes. "I'm going to end you." I absorbed the energy from some nearby lights and started shooting bolts of electricity mixed with energy. I got maybe two hits on him and made a not in my mind. He can only be hurt by surprise. It'll hurt him, but I just have to keep chipping away. I started to mix up my powers more, I cloned myself, and had all the clones mob each other, drawing his attention away from me. I shot max with a spear construct and knocked him out so Ruby could help me. "So you think because I'm a girl means I can't help myself, you're pathetic."
"More like, I'm freeing up you schedule so you can help me, you're really powerful and I could use some help." I said as I dodged a punch. "Only because you asked nicely." She said as she smiled. She shot sharp points of diamond as wall walk as he absorbed two hits."ok, do as I follow." I said as I proceeded to jump off the building, with Ruby in tow.

So this is where it brings us, right back to the beginning, me falling off a building, the girl who is my roommate and that a harbor slight feelings for right behind me, and I'm going to go and beat the crap, out of that guy up there, who thinks he can take other my city! I'll show him! I made circular constructs and caught myself and Ruby on them. I can fly, I rose the constructs up and made the signal to Magnus, one shot to the head and it jostled WW, Kat came up behind him and stabbed her sword through his chest. Ruby and I landed on the roof and I ripped his head off and threw it out into the city skyline. "He is dead!" I exclaimed over the coms as we saw people start to recover from the nightmare. "So let me get this strait." I looked at Kat "did we just stop the apocalypse?"
"Yes we-" she was interrupted by a stirring Max and we all crowded around him.
