"You ever been with a real country boy before, Blynn?" Caden was currently leaning towards me, bumping my shoulder. I was sitting in the corner booth in between Caden and Zack. Bryson and Alex were sitting on Zack's right, while the happy couple planted themselves beside Caden.

"Yep. Been there, done that. Most DEFINITELY don't want to go back." I say while dipping my french fries into my vanilla shake. I know it's going to kill me on Monday doing volleyball and all, but as of right now I was in heaven.

"Really? Who?" Caden looked suddenly interested. I'm sure this is what he did with all girls. Acting as if he wanted to learn about a girl's past when I'm sure he could care less. Not wanting to be a conversation killer, I continued down the road we were headed.

"Carson Lee." I say before eating the last fry I could handle. "You want these, babe?" I look at Zack and smile. "Yeah sure." he says, taking the boat of fries from in front of me.

"No. Not Carson Lee. He wasn't no country boy! He was a wanna-be."

"Wait, Carson Lee? Your ex?" Alex looks over at us.

"Yep. That's who we're talking about."

"Hold on, Carson Lee? The one who quit spring football? The one that smells like fish?" Bryson enters the conversation, obviously clueless.

"He didn't smell like fish!" I say, defending Carson. Wow. We've been over with for 7 months and I'm still defending him.

"Bryson, maybe you're mistaking Carson for you, dimwit." Caden shoots Bryson a look, and Bryson goes down.

"Damn, you got him in check." Riley says, leaning against Forest's shoulder. If this milkshake wasn't so good, I'd throw it on them for being so disgusting.

QUACK! QUACK! QUACK! Zack reaches for his phone. "Dadgumit!" He says, "I gotta get home...step dad's in from work. Want me to take you home, Blynn?" He winks at me, probably trying to hint something for everyone else. Though our "crowd" is simpleminded and will most likely assume the worst, I know it's just a wink. A smile grew on my face, only making the situation worse. "Of course," I get up and grab his hand. "See you guys later." I say before walking out the door of Big Momma's Burgers.

"So, how was the game with Riley? Like, what did y'all talk about?" Zack asks, one hand on the wheel, the other reaching for his soda bottle in the cup holder.

"Oh nothing really. We just talked about our relationships...hers in particular." I say before looking back out the window. We were about 5 minutes from my house.

"Ha. Yeah, and who wants to deal with that drama?" Zack laughs at himself as he stops his truck at the 4-way. Silverton only had one light in the whole town, and that was the blinking red one in the middle of everything.

"If we break them up, then you'll be the one dealing with her and her drama."

Zack gets quiet at my words, only because he knows it's true. I mean, he's about to do everything in his power to win her over, but does he know for a fact that it's worth it? Or is he just doing this for another notch in his belt?

"Look...if we are going to break them up, we're going to have to try harder than just...this." He speaks up before turning into my neighborhood.

"Okay. So what do you propose, exactly?" I look over and make eye contact with him as he approaches a stop sign.

"I think what we should do is make her jealous of us in general. Like attract so much attention to us, she'll have no choice but to look our way too. Because you know the only thing Riley truly loves, it's attention. Then, we'll concentrate on your image as an individual. You'll make her so jealous that she'll want everything you have...including me."

"Ya know what, Zack? If you didn't act like such an imbecile half the time, then people would start thinking of you as a genius." I smile at him before opening the door to his truck. "Thanks for the ride."

"Hey wait. I'll call you sometime tomorrow, okay? And don't sleep in too late, because we're going out somewhere." He gives me a wicked smile before saying goodnight and driving off into the night. Yippee, I say in my mind before opening the door to my house and going to my room to crash on my bed.
