Blynn’s p.o.v.

You know how they always say “All is calm before a storm”? That’s the exact quote for the moment I was in, right here...right now. It seemed time had slowed down since Forest and Riley had walked through the door, and before I could prepare myself, I saw Riley leave Forest’s side and she was making her way over to the bar. Right over to where Zack and I were sitting. Remembering our plan, my eyes shifted as I looked back at him and smirked. “Here we go.”

Zack and I began to make out on the bar stool. His hands caressed my back gently, rubbing in all the right places. Where my hands were once holding onto his neck, they were now grasping and entangling themselves in his messy brown hair. Of course, this was all for show, but that didn’t make it anymore intense. Breathless, we pulled away when we heard the sound of her voice. “Blynn, can I talk to you for just a sec?” Riley asks. “It won’t take long, I promise.” Perfect, I thought.

“Uhh, sure.” I say, turning back to Zack. He had an annoyed look on his face, but he was quick to recover from it.

“Listen Blynn, don’t run off and get any more gorgeous while you’re gone. I’ll be waiting for you here, babe. Don’t miss me too much.” He winks as I hop down from his lap.

“Sure thing, sweetheart,” I say with an affectionate look on my face, “as long as you don’t miss me too much while I’m gone. Oh and if any sluts come up asking for a dance, tell ‘em to get lost.” I recall before Zack tugs on my leather jacket, leaning in for another long kiss before our departure. I’m sure Riley couldn’t stand witnessing the sickly sweet moment, but that was what it was for, right?

When we finally let go of each other’s lips, I turn to Riley. “Are you ready?” I ask, before we are out the back door and making our way to the little pier hanging over the water. It was pretty chilly outside, but then again you don’t expect it to be 90 degrees on a lovely evening in August.

“So, what’d you want to talk about?” I ask her. The silence may not have been long, but if Riley really needed to say something, then she needed to say it now.

“Well, I just wanted to warn you about Zack. I mean, he may seem like a perfect gentleman now, but he’s only doing it to get in your pants later. And after he does, he’ll just leave like he never cared in the first place. Trust me, I’ve been in your shoes plenty of times.”

I ponder her statement with each step I take. I mean yeah, Riley and Zack have had a really rough past, considering they’ve only broken up about 12,739 times. But if I recall correctly, Riley was always the one to break up with him. Either he was being stupid and immature, or she was trying to get with someone else at the same time.

“Uhh...Riley. When you say ‘he’ll just leave’, do you mean he’ll break up with me?” Laying the net down for the prey, I am. Let’s just hope this hunting trip won’t be blown out of proportion.

“Yeah, why?” Her big green eyes look into mine, and I know what she’s about to walk into.

“Well, when you and Zack were together, you were always the one to break up with him. And I know that for a fact because you would always tell me why you would leave.” I turn to her, and she loses eye contact. Snap, and the creature is caught. I internally smirk for the victorious response. But asking for things to not be blown out of proportion was just too much.

“That’s why I would leave! Because he was asking me for sex all the time! And so I would get tired of-”

“Riley, does it bother you that me and Zack are together?” I ask her suddenly, totally catching her from saying anything that might tempt me to punch her in the throat.
