lance: color?
keith thought orange. he was alone again and needed something - someone - whatever to be there so he didn't do something bad. he was about to text the word, but then he remembered lance was mourning. he couldn't bother him with this while he was trying to accept his loss and move on.
keith: light blue
lance: do i need to come over?
yes.
keith: no but thank you
lance: you sure?
no.
keith: yes.
keith's hands shook as he stared at the ceiling, trying to do anything but think. if he started thinking, he'd start getting suicidal and then he'd start acting upon that and he knew he shouldn't, but he ached to just end it. no, he had to hold on. for lance. lance already lost one person, he couldn't lose another in the same week.
but what if lance didn't even care?
lance cares. if he didn't, he wouldn't be helping keith through all of this. he wouldn't have asked keith to go to the funeral.
keith sat up and rubbed his eyes. he needed a distraction, and lance would be a great one, but lance was still mourning - lance was still hurting. keith looked down at his phone to see that lance had texted him several more times.
lance: you know you can tell me what's going on, right?
lance: hello?
lance: okay now i'm kind of worried
keith: orange i'm sorry
lance: don't apologize i'm coming right over
keith: don't
lance: what?
keith: don't come over. you have other things to deal with right now.
lance: like hell i'm not coming over.
keith: be with your family.
lance: they'll be here when i get back. i'm worried about you.
keith: lance seriously
lance: i'll be there in ten.---
"you need to tell your foster mom about this, keith," lance murmured brushing keith's hair out of his face.
"i can't. she doesn't care about me, why would she want to help me?" keith whispered, holding lance's hands tightly in his.
"then you have to let me tell someone-"
"no, please," keith begged, his indigo eyes brimming with tears. "t-they'll lock me up in some asylum or send me away or-"
"keith," lance murmured, brushing away a stray tear that had slipped down keith's cheek. "i'll be with you every step, and i'll make sure they don't do anything unnecessary, okay? i just think you need to see a professional, because i'm not a therapist or a psychologist. one day there might be something i can't fix."
"after new years," keith agreed, his bottom lip trembling. "i'll see someone after new years."
