keith turned to see lance's car come to a stop, before lance got out of the car. the wind whipped his hair back, his eyes trained on keith. he looked beautiful, like always.

keith smiled to himself as the thought reached his mind.

"you're beautiful, lance," he whispered into the phone.

"keith, i'm on my way up there, don't-"

"i love you with everything i am."

"i love you too, but we can fix this, okay? we're going to the therapist tomorrow and she'll be able to tell us what to do, how to fix this, you don't have to-"

"it's calming, you know? looking down at the water, knowing that once you reach the bottom, it'll all be over."

"keith, stop, please!" lance begged.

"you were my everything, lance. thank you for trying to help."

keith ended the call, throwing a look back at lance, who was running towards him and calling his name. he took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and jumped.

"keith!"

he hit the water, feeling the cold envelop him and cut off his oxygen supply. he closed his eyes and let himself sink.

it felt like he was surrounded by lance. lance loved the water, lance had eyes the color of the sea, there wasn't a part of lance that wasn't just like the water. keith was leaving this godforsaken world, and lance was taking him somewhere better - wherever that was.

it was calming, serene. keith couldn't breathe, but he didn't struggle. he almost couldn't - struggling would mean he wanted to live, just a little bit.

lance.

lancelancelance.

lance had seen him jump, lance was lonely, lance couldn't live without him, lance loved him, lance would be devastated, lance would become depressed, lance would-

lance was beautiful.

keith's mind faded to black.
