Chapter 19

Once we get some time to rest at home with Ryan, we get a call from the police station, to help them find the person who crashed into us.

"Did you see the driver?" The officer asks.

"I didn't. It was dark out." I respond, recalling that night.

"We know you had a scare a little while back, with the break in. Where they threatened you." She says "When they implied to kidnap or murder Ryan."

"I remember it." I remember "We have a dashcam on our car. I have it with me in my purse, just in case."

I hand the cam to her.

"This will probably be the only piece of evidence we have. Thank you."

"No problem, officer."

I wait for Ed to finish questioning and for the officer to come. Ryan is sitting on my lap and I'm bouncing my legs, he loves that.

"Mrs.Sheeran?" Asks an officer.

"Yes?" I reply.

"We found the evidence. Come in." He says, holding the door open."

"The driver had dark red hair and was dressed in dark colours. We also have footage of the break in from a few months back. If we put them together, they match. In the dashcam, we see her face. She is Rose Pond, and been on our radar for a while now. This is evidence we could use in court." The officer explains "She must be following you. And I know how to catch her."

"Go on." I say

"You text me, so it isn't obvious, when you see her when you're out and tell me where you are. I come, but in a regular car, not a police car. Does that sound like a plan?" He asks

"Perfect." I say

I enter the number in my phone, and take a photo of Rose on the dashcam.

I run out to get some groceries, and look out for her. I check at the picture on my phone. The lady working at the bakery section looks exactly like her. Quickly, I tell Daniel where I am. Within minutes, he's here.

"WHERE IS ROSE POND?" He yells. Silence. "I SAID, WHERE IS ROSE POND?!"

The girl who works in the bakery section hides behind the racks of cooling breads.

Daniel runs into there and corners her.

"Looks like you're going to be locked up. Enjoy the last of your freedom." He says handcuffing her.

All that's left is the court meeting and she'll be locked up.
