Chapter 22

        September has rolled around once again. The parks are near empty, and the roads are busier. Only three months until my baby girl is here. Today is the checkup just to make sure everything's okay. I know that I shouldn't be nervous, but everybody is sometimes. After the appointment, we have to rush home for the baby shower. All the decorations need to be put up and let me tell you, there is a lot of pink. I need to get started when we get home...

        Typical appointment. Ultrasound, stethoscopes and kicking. The baby was kicking, not the doctor by the way. Ed was taking care of Ryan while I was there since he prefers Ed. Traffic is terrible when I get home. It took at least half an hour to get home. I deserve some ice cream. This is hard work. It's like constantly lifting weights and your back hurts pretty much 24/7. So hell yeah I deserve that ice cream. Mint ice cream for sure. That is what I needed. I rush home to get ready for the baby shower. I still have to decorate and get everything organized. I run, well walk, inside to find that it's all decorated.

        "Hi honey." Ed greets as he kisses my cheek.

        "Hey." I say looking around.

        "Where's the rest of the ice cream?" Ed jokes. I guess he could smell that on my breath, since he knows that my favourite flavour.

        "Thank you for doing this. The traffic was crazy. That was before I got the ice cream."

        "You better go get ready. I'll get Ryan dressed."

        I decide on a simple maxi dress that's black, but fades to pink near the end. I also pair it with a jean jacket. Simple, yet cute. Ryan is running around his soon to be sister's room. Thankfully he doesn't take off his clothes when we're not looking. Maybe he'll get tired soon so he'll sleep during the shower. Guests start to show up, and of course my mom has a big box, which is a decoration set. It's an owl theme with a lamp, bookends, wallstickers, bedding, stuffed animal and first year scrapbook.

       Overall, the shower was nice, and everything went smoothly. Ryan was jealous a bit, but everybody loved him. The cake pops that I made were delicious. Strawberry mix and vanilla frosting go great together. Around this day in 3 months is when she'll be here. It's time to start thinking of names.
