Chap 16- Let's Go Find Everyone

"Hey, Sonic," I greeted, climbing onto the roof.

"Hey, Ives. What's up?" he responded.

"Wanna go on a mission?"

"What kind?"

"It involves finding a bat, and returning a stolen diamond. Do this and you guys may be able to roam freely," I said.

"When you say 'bat', do ya mean Rouge?" he asked.

"Yep."

"Isn't she workin' for the government?"

"She might be, but if she's not, we can help her begin to work for them."

"Then lets go," he said, jumping off the roof and landing perfectly on the ground below.

Sonic and I ran over to the museum to see it blocked off.

"Stay here," I instructed.

He nodded and I walked over to a police man. He was watching the tape of when Rouge stole the diamond.

"I don't understand this at all," said the police officer. "She stole it and when we got here she and the diamond were gone!" he exclaimed waving his arms in the air.

"Where could she be?" another police officer asked.

"How am I supposed to know?! This has never happened before!" he yelled.

"Have you seen the thief before?" the other officer asked the one in front of me.

"Never before. This boggles my mind!" yelled the one in front of me.

I backed away slowly towards Sonic. "They have no idea where she is," I informed Sonic.

"Then where could she be?" he asked while laying on a terrace eye level to me.

"I don't know. Maybe-" just then Knuckles rounded the corner, running really fast.

"Knuckles!" I yelled as he passed me.

"Ivy! Someone just stole the Master Emerald!"

"You found it?" asked Sonic.

"That's what you got from that?!" he yelled, baring his teeth.

"Calm down, hot head," Sonic said while sitting up.

" I'M NOT-"

"Knuckles stop!" I interrupted. "Someone stole the Master Emerald?" I asked, veering off the subject of yelling.

"Ya! I was walking in the forest....."

*Flashback*

I was walking in the forest on a dirt trail. I heard voices behind me and swerved to the left and climbed up the cliff. I got to the top and looked around. There wasn't a very noticeable trail, but I turned right and walked atop the rocky mountain peaks.

I walked for a while and entered a entered a picnic area. Humans were walking all around this area, so I stayed in the shadows. In the center of the area was a large tower. When no one was looking I ran over to the entrance. The sign in the door said closed. I ran to the back of the tower and climbed up to the top. I opened one of the windows and stepped into the room. There were telescopes everywhere. I looked into one and peered around.

An opening was enlarged through the telescope. In the center was the temple that held the Master Emerald.

I jumped out the window and glided to the trees. I landed and ran towards the opening. I was close, I could feel it. I finally reached Angel Island, but when I looked up, the Master Emerald was gone! I climbed up the staircase to see no trace of the Emerald. I jumped down and searched the Island, but I couldn't find it.

*End Flashback*

"You should have kept a better eye on it," said Sonic.

"Stop it," I instructed him. "I remember that Rouge took it one time, but that's later. Maybe the episodes are out of order..."I explained to Knuckles.

"You mean that bat stole it?" asked Knuckles. "We have to find her and get the Master Emerald back!"

"And the diamond," Sonic added.

"Then lets go look!" I said and we ran off down the sidewalk, towards the forest.
